You find a brass lamp with a genie (jinn/djin) inside and set it free. It grants you three wishes, so what will you wish for?

There are two rules: 1. You may not use a wish to get more wishes. 2. All wishes are subject to the interpretation of the genie, so watch what you wish for, you might get it! This survey is borrowed from one Bill did in 1998: http://surveycentral.org/survey/1068.html

Hmmm...
First, I'd wish for wisdom. Second, for a large sum of money, which I would distribute amongst SPUC, NZRSPCA, World Vision, Tear Fund, Guide Dog sponsorship, the international animal rescue organisation, my local church, people around me in need, my family and myself, and thirdly, that ... well actually, I'm not sharing the third wish * smile *

Because I don't think that genie would grant me a wish to become omnipotent, I would choose:

1st: Eternal life, but staying young forever, and being able to kill yourself if you want to

Some evil genie interpretations:
eliminating suffering, people full of happiness, etc. - Everyone is permanently doped up
large sums of money - followed by arrest for possession of stolen bank money, or counterfeiting, or rigging a lottery, or...
peace on earth - war in space (that's from The Lathe of Heaven)
enlightenment - realize life is meaningless and become suicidal
peace of mind - no worrying about the oncoming traffic

negating the need for the other two wishes.

If I can't choose that, then I would take:
The ability to travel to and explore other planets.
Eternal health and youth
Ability to see into the future at least 5 days in advance.

The trick here is to effectively get as many wishes as I want, without violating the rules. Here is how it's done:

Wish #1: I wish to have a time-machine, which could reach any point in time and space.
Wish #2: I wish that my traveling through time could not change any event in the past or future I already know about (directly or indirectly).
Wish #3: I wish that I'll never be harmed in anyway by anyone or anything.

No need to wish for anything else - I can get every piece of future technology I want, and being a millionaire is just a matter of going to the tracks and placing a bet...

Again- pain does not equal suffering. Suffering comes from when you resist pain and want it to go away or things to be otherwise. And, again, if all beings, all species, died out, but nobody was suffering, every being felt joy and peace with their dying out, what would be the harm in that?

I'm really trying to adjust to the language spoken on this site, or should I say they way that people respond on this site. If you miss putting a period or question mark at the end of a sentence it's like such a BIG deal. So I'm learning slowly but surely that I must break it down very clearly, remembering to put my capital letters, commas and spaces between words. So I am sorry if I offended you, I will respond on this site like I do in my CompII class that's all.
