| Jemmy | posted 27-Mar-2001 3:30pm Stars, hearts, and spheres. But I pretty much like all shapes. I like shapes that don't have names a lot too. |
| drdt | posted 27-Mar-2001 3:33pm I am particularly fond of toroi. |
| happyme | posted 27-Mar-2001 3:34pm I have an obsession with stars. I think there is a meaning in it for me. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 27-Mar-2001 4:12pm Paisley. What about ovoid, bean, rhombus, trapezoid, cartoid, truncated-icosododecahedrons, stellated... ...drons, and my favorite.. paisley forms. There are various stella including the washington monument, and that of the 2001 movie it the form of a draedl or kabbalistic tree-of-life with 9 points of sephiroth and 32 possible paths (like the creation story) connecting them. That's a pyramidal box with a pyramid top. I have some really fancy geometry that couldn't be described easily also based on 3d molecules of the tree. Protein crystallography would be a fantastic pursuit. Caduceus (double helix snakes) |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 27-Mar-2001 4:17pm I also have tons of pyramids around the house, I used to make all sorts of fancy intersections of ovoids, boxes, curved step accordion staircases, in drafting, sculptures, and custom sheet-fab A/C work in Citroëns. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to drdt) posted 27-Mar-2001 4:18pm Bad cop, no doughnut. |

| Zang | posted 27-Mar-2001 5:32pm I guess my favourite shape is the one you get when you superimpose a circle and a triangle. |
| juliw | posted 27-Mar-2001 5:47pm heart. star, arc(as in rainbows) and "good"--as in "everything is in good shape" |

| HareKrishna | (reply to drdt) posted 27-Mar-2001 10:47pm What is toroi? |
| Enheduanna | (reply to romkey) posted 27-Mar-2001 10:59pm Kleinbottles should be little Russ-shaped bottles! I'd like those! |
| romkey | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 28-Mar-2001 2:12am yeah that wouldn't be bad at all |
| supplicant | posted 28-Mar-2001 9:07am What? You forgot dodecahedron?! How could you? Bah! |
| Violet | posted 28-Mar-2001 10:06am Spiral! |
| drdt | (reply to HareKrishna) posted 28-Mar-2001 11:22am Are, not is. 'Toroi' is the plural of 'torus' - a solid with a hole in it (like a bagel or a ring or a coffee cup). Hence KR's response. There are variations, like a doughnut with two holes (or a coffeepot), but I don't know what they are called. |
| HareKrishna | (reply to drdt) posted 28-Mar-2001 4:31pm OIC! |

| kaleb777 | (reply to hildagard) posted 30-Mar-2001 2:44pm So are you a religious nut? |
| hildagard | (reply to kaleb777) posted 2-Apr-2001 12:46pm Not really. I do go to church every week (I fudgeen have to). But how a pentagram makes makes me a religious nut?, because I don't worship a satan. |
| kaleb777 | (reply to hildagard) posted 3-Apr-2001 5:15pm Why did you choose a pentagram. Is it because you are forced to go to church? |
| hildagard | (reply to kaleb777) posted 4-Apr-2001 3:45pm No, it just looks cool. |
