| bill | posted 9-Jul-1998 7:17am Great range of times! - I was expecting (given this group of night owls) that you'd start the times at 8am or so. "before sunrise" is a good rule of thumb for early in my mind (I know it varies, but dark is early in my mind). |
| lizzie | posted 9-Jul-1998 7:24am The idea is to choose the latest time period that is still "early" for you. Choosing "Before 7 AM" infers "Before 6 AM", "Before 5 AM", etc. So, try to stick to one time in your answer if you can. (I didn't want to clutter the question with all of this, so I put it here.) ***jen: wow! what's my prize?? fame and fortune? pride in my survey? a gumball or some red M&Ms??? |
| daver | posted 9-Jul-1998 7:29am 5'ish during the week and 4'ish on weekends... |
| jjg | posted 9-Jul-1998 11:33am My normal time to get up is 7:00 am for work, so during the work week early would be before 7:00am. My normal time to get up on the weekend is between 8:00am and 9:00am, so during the weekend the answer is before 8:00am. |
| lisashea | posted 9-Jul-1998 11:41am Before 9. I got into work at 11 this morning :) |
| romkey | posted 9-Jul-1998 2:16pm Early means to me that I have to get up before I would be likely to naturally wake up. I don't get up (or go to bed) at any fixed time, so it's pretty variable in terms of the actual hour. |
| gilly | posted 9-Jul-1998 2:49pm Depends on whether I've got a "real" job or not. I've been naturally waking up around 8 lately, when I let my body do its own thing. |
| Pooh_Bear | posted 9-Jul-1998 4:16pm If I run in the morning, I'm up at 4:30. If I don't, I'm up at 5:30. But on weekends, 9:00 is early for me. I like to sleep in. |
| Resy | posted 9-Jul-1998 4:48pm 'early' is anytime before my body wants to be awake! given that I wake up on my own around 530-600am I chose before 6 as 'early' |
| Pomeranian | posted 9-Jul-1998 5:33pm I am not usually up before 1pm |
| steve | posted 9-Jul-1998 5:45pm Before 11 am on weekdays, noon or earlier on weekends. |
| DustBunny | posted 9-Jul-1998 7:23pm During the week before 5 is "early" for me. On the weekends any time is too early! |
| RatQueen | posted 9-Jul-1998 11:21pm Well, it depends who I'm talking to and what time I go to bed. If I go to bed at, say 2 AM, then 9 AM is early, and if I go to bed at 10 PM, then 6 AM is early. (Heck, any time before 8 AM is early any day!) |
| BenevolentMagus | posted 10-Jul-1998 8:37am Each day I awaken between three and five AM, so three AM or earlier is early for me. |
| dpolicar | posted 10-Jul-1998 12:02pm ***Lizzie -- sorry, I interpreted it slightly differently. Any time before 5 AM I wouldn't say "I have to get up early", I'd say "I have to get up absurdly early" or something like that... any time before 4 AM I'd consider just staying awake. So I checked both "< 6" and "< 7", since the 5-7 range is roughly "early". |
| tcb | posted 11-Jul-1998 10:23am and "really early" means I've got a maintenance window at 4am I need to be up for.. |
| phi | posted 11-Jul-1998 11:29pm I checked 7am and 9am, which are more or less what I consider early on weekdays and weekends respectively these days. This is very different from what I used to consider early... |
| seven | posted 14-Jul-1998 12:51pm Early is any time I have to set my alarm for. That is, any time I can't be confident my body will naturally get me up for, so early can be 7 am sometimes, or 3 pm sometimes. |
| Artemis | posted 14-Jul-1998 4:39pm early on weekdays in the summer is before 8. On weekends it's before 9. In the winter/during the school year, on weekdays, getting up early is before 7. |
| Spiegs3 | posted 20-Jul-1998 1:58am And don't EVER try to wake me sooner than necessary. |
