I saw the preview for that show on TV... It was for some crappy tabloid type show.
BUT... the whole idea of something like that blows me the fudge away. |

I'm so glad somebody brought this up! They were faked! |

Where is your proof? |

Where's your proof that it's real? |

I think the fact that they brought back so many pounds of rocks and other samples is enough proof. |

Can't everyone see the big American flag that's on the moon now? Let's just hope the vikings don't suddenly claim that they got there first. |
| Hathor | | (reply to ASexyBabe) posted 22-Feb-2001 10:21am |
And how do you know those are real? |

This survey is a rip-off of one on CNN. I was astonished at the results of the CNN survey and wanted to see what this group had to say. I've known for a long time that there was a theory floating around that the landings were faked. I had no idea that one in eight thought that.
It brings up the whole question of how we know anything about history. We're taught various things in school, some of which we later find out are wrong. Should we then believe none of it? |
TeddyMiller | | posted 22-Feb-2001 12:04pm |
It seems extremely unlikely that they were faked. To pick one reason: any observatory with a big laser can easily prove whether the landings happened or not, since the astronauts left a series of mirrors at the lunar landing sites, which astronomers bounce laser beams off of to measure the exact distance of the moon. They are getting data now on the moon's distance which they couldn't get if the landings had been faked. |

Mmm...no. |
| jkiehart | | posted 22-Feb-2001 4:18pm |
I sure do! The horizon is too small, the stars aren't bright enough considering the air is so thin, blah blah blah.
Hey, I'm no conspiracy theorist, but there's a ton of proof that they were all really in some bunker underneath the desert. |

I started to say they weren't faked, because they were on TV. Then I came to my senses and realized that many untrue things are on TV. Those pictures could have been taken any number of places, rather than the moon. I really don't know. |

No, but I wish they would have been... saved us a hell of a lot of money. The opinion that they were was very popular around here in the early days... seems to have died down though. |
