I do it everyday before I go to sleep, saying the prayer from the book of prayers, and when I go to the church, in front of the icon.

I thank God I met Maarten on SC every day!

And Jenny and mandy and I don't even know who else because it's late and I've had a lot of Heinekiens and vodka shots tonight. I love you all.

What was I saying?

I like drinking!

Let's not forget the pot. Thank GOD for pot. And Marlboro lights. And my job, even though it pisses me off, I love it.

I pray often.

When I was just a lil tyke I used to say 1 of 2 things before I went off to dreamland...

Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord, my soul to keep and if I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take.

OR

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, bless the bed that I lay on.

Sometimes. Not every day or anything, but fairly often. Mostly for thanks. Occasionally for someone in need. Never for any benefit to myself, and I would NEVER do one those "deals".

I used to say those same two prayers as a child. Now, I try to make my prayers more conversational, although not out loud. I ask for favors for myself and/or others, ask for forgiveness, give thanks, and remember the dead, especially my dad. I feel certain that my dad is in heaven, so does not need my prayers, but I just like to remember him in my prayers.

I feel like that sometimes too, but you know that the one you're praying to doesn't see it the same way. It's like when babies try to talk...their parents think it's fabulous even though it sounds absurd and they even understand it. (I don't know if that's a good analogy, but I hope it's helpful).

I need to thank God more for the gifts that he brings me every day. To ask forgivness for the people I offend and hurt every day. I need to pray way more often then I do right now. Because it only took God a fraction of a second to creat me and everthing that I know, but it has taken me my whole life to appreciate that.

I pray and thank God for the many blessings I have in life; my family, my friends, my shelter, my food, everything that I have been blessed with. In today's world, many people blame God for their misfortunes, very sad indeed. Life is what we make of it, good or bad. If people choose not to follow God's laws, they will be punished. There is built-in punishment with disobeying God's Word. People, in reality, punish themselves. With God's guidance, we can benefit. The wealth of a good heart, through God's Word is more important than all the material riches in the world.

I don't condemn any who disagree, but I can't trust a book with running my life. I believe what I feel to be true. I'm not Satanist; you can't be Satanist without being Christian, actually. I'm an ex-Wiccan turned Atheist, and I don't accept any attempts at conversion. Don't waste your time.

It depends on your definition. When anything that meets my senses goes awry, when I pass high traffic areas or gatherings of people, when I need direction (most of the time), and as I drift to sleep.

My definition is more like Twisty's: sending out positive energy, and interactively being one with everything.
Zang: I'm often (usually?) in states where any physical manifestation from getting music onto my speakers to getting ink to flow from pen to paper won't happen without prayer. It would be selfish of me to not be here to serve others, and without prayer I would entropy into non-existence.

I don't exactly pray because I don't agree with organized religion.I am still questioning what I do believe because it changes with experience. I am tilting towards believing in 'something more after death' but I guess I'll have to wait and see what that is (or not)

What does prayer have to do with organised religion? There are many levels of death and birth, so many available on this (somewhat) physical plane in this life. Why wait?

Just thinking good thoughts to strangers is a form of prayer. As I bicycle through town I choose different sorts of prayers (mostly just spectral energy projections) for each passing car.
After my 'dates' with my new girl friend I've had people yell insults at me (I'm transgendered). The other night after a date, I had some guy follow me to the market yelling insults. He was next to me in line where I just gazed into his eyes with what I might call Gebvurah or Jesus energy. As I exited the store he said 'God bless you', and I nodded to indicate 'that's more like it'. My point is positive energy can be quite a life saver.
