| Nat | posted 2-Feb-2001 8:23pm I'd like to be able to read people's thoughts. While part of me is sure that once i had the ability it would lead to all kinds of problems and dilemmas, I'd really REALLY like to know if my boss is screwing me over. And it would have been nice to find out my ex boyfriend was a closet cross-dresser first hand. |
| confetti | posted 2-Feb-2001 10:22pm This survey doesn't mention the power of becoming invisible, which I would love. Preferably when I don't want to go to school. |
| Richard | (reply to confetti) posted 2-Feb-2001 10:35pm School is important! |
| confetti | (reply to Richard) posted 2-Feb-2001 10:50pm Not to me...I have an I.Q. of 173. |

| LindaH | posted 3-Feb-2001 12:18am Probability manipulation would go really good with a trip to Vegas. |
| LindaH | (reply to confetti) posted 3-Feb-2001 12:20am Then maybe you should be going to a better school, if you're not already. Academic knowledge is still important, it should just be IQ-appropriate. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 3-Feb-2001 4:05am I've already experienced x-ray vision, probability manipulation, something like energy generation, and weathar control. I am terribly slow. I killed my back hitchhiking with 4 suitcases, pushing 40 gallon drums of water up ladders into trees, and moving lots of engines and transmissions. my sliiped disc is improving again. My next goal, should i go in that direction again, is teleportation. The only thing I want to change about myself is to reduce my scatterbrained absentmindedness, increase my sensitivity to others needs & communication, and be more decisive; nothing partularly super-human. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to anonymous) posted 3-Feb-2001 4:09am 86, where have you been? |
| darkshadowsseeker | posted 3-Feb-2001 1:50pm All of the above plus super hearing |
| jettles | posted 3-Feb-2001 4:23pm hhhhhmmmm, x-ray vision!! yeah, that's it!! |
| they | posted 3-Feb-2001 5:23pm I would like to mind read, make myself invisible, and go from one place to another in the blink of an eye. |
| confetti | (reply to LindaH) posted 3-Feb-2001 5:26pm I AM going to a good school, and I am also enrolled in an advanced class, but it's still boring. And plenty of people have succeeded without academic knowledge...look at Bill Gates. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to they) posted 3-Feb-2001 5:32pm You've seen what that's like from the other side. Decide first if you mind everyone reading your mind. considering your second choice, i suspect your motive is fear, not love. such gifts are less likely to come to the fearful. easier than 'invisible' is 'unnoticed'. I use it on my bike all the time. |
| they | posted 3-Feb-2001 5:37pm It is impossible for me to feel unnoticed, even though I am probably exactly that the majority of the time. If you've ever seen that PAXIL commercial where the person walks in the room and thinks everyone looks up at him... that's me... I can be very shy. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to they) posted 3-Feb-2001 5:46pm I've been there. that's a self-acceptance issue. you are worthy of carrying on however you currently desire, act, and think with reverance and prestige, even if it's God incarnate cloned throughout the room. realising it was actually god out there got me timid; realising I had no choice but to be exactly what God made me put an end to the fear. |
| Richard | (reply to confetti) posted 3-Feb-2001 7:14pm School is important. It helps you devlope social skills. Are you a genius? |
| confetti | (reply to Richard) posted 3-Feb-2001 8:17pm I have excellent social skills...I am the editor of my school newspaper, it's just that I hate the academic bull. It's such a drag. I am not a genius at everything. Certainly not with computers. |

| LindaH | (reply to confetti) posted 4-Feb-2001 1:21pm That's cool. Well, what classes would you rather be enrolled in? How old are you? Do you think trade school would be more fun? |

| Jemmy | posted 4-Feb-2001 4:48pm Is there a super power that would make everyone like you. |
| Maarten | (reply to Jemmy) posted 4-Feb-2001 4:59pm Just be yourself! |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Jemmy) posted 4-Feb-2001 5:00pm Yes. Truly love everyone. It works wonders. |
| Jemmy | (reply to Maarten) posted 4-Feb-2001 5:06pm It doesn't work. |
| Jemmy | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 4-Feb-2001 5:07pm I love everyone. Except the people who hate me. Oh, wait, that's everyone. Oh well. |
| Maarten | (reply to Jemmy) posted 4-Feb-2001 5:07pm It works with me. I like you. |
| Jemmy | (reply to Maarten) posted 4-Feb-2001 5:08pm Okay, everyone except two people. Three if I am lucky. |
| Maarten | (reply to Jemmy) posted 4-Feb-2001 5:11pm It's more than that. Most people here like you, Jem! |
| Jemmy | (reply to Maarten) posted 4-Feb-2001 5:12pm Or so they say. People act as though they like me. But then they all talk about me. Well, three people. But I know they all are thinking it. |
| confetti | (reply to LindaH) posted 4-Feb-2001 6:51pm I am thirteen, and going into the eighth grade. I like the subjects of my classes fine, actually. It's the teachers, books, and notebooks that bore me. I am interested in the form of teaching used in Ancient Greece, where scholars would simply gather about an elder and listen to what he said. Proven psychological studies demonstrate that in this more casual uptake, students are more apt to pay attention and understand the subject. |
| LindaH | (reply to confetti) posted 4-Feb-2001 8:31pm Don't you have any cool, relaxed teachers? I had some like that, and they were fun and interesting. |
| confetti | (reply to LindaH) posted 4-Feb-2001 8:58pm Not really. There is one, but only when she remembers to take her Prozac meds. |
| Richard | (reply to confetti) posted 4-Feb-2001 10:39pm "I hate the academic bull" Please explain |
| confetti | (reply to Richard) posted 5-Feb-2001 12:20am What do you want explained? Bull is simply American slang, a abbreviation of the usual "bull crap", which describes something that is not completely truthful or acceptable. |
| law | posted 5-Feb-2001 2:45am Be able to read other people's minds |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Jemmy) posted 5-Feb-2001 4:10am You first, that's how it works. Be cheerful and the sun will shine and the birds will chirp. |
| jkiehart | posted 5-Feb-2001 10:14am I would want the ability to stop time. That, or shape-shifting. That'd be cool, too. |
| Jemmy | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 5-Feb-2001 11:46am The sun can't shine when people block it, and birds don't chirp when killed. I like people. But no matter what you do they won't like you. If you look bad they make fun of you and say you are dirty and ugly. If you look good they make fun of you and say that you are a tramp. People are cruel. |
| Zang | posted 5-Feb-2001 12:13pm X-ray vision could be interesting. > |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Jemmy) posted 5-Feb-2001 12:59pm Most people are pleasant with me face to face, but I have some neighbors that block TV and stereo reception when they pass my apartment. People will also base opinions of your culture and self-worth on your appearance. You can work up to a level of dignity that shows on your face no matter what you wear. Still, you know who you are. I think of people as books or movies. Some are well done, even though they aren't the sort of subject I prefer. I wouldn't expect the movies to like me. If things don't go well, recall that god knows where you will be. at every moment, and directs this movie so the right people show up for each other at the right time. You have to figure out why these particular people are in your life and what experience or lesson you're supposed to get from it. Maybe the lesson is to avoid certain ones and not let them affect your happiness. |
| Jemmy | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 5-Feb-2001 3:12pm With the luck I have, if there is a god, he probably thinks I'm a tramp too. I guess you're right. I've been trying to tell myself that I can't change who I am to suit certain people, and that not everyone will always like me, but this time it just really bothered me. People talk about me a lot and I don't know why. But I guess it's okay, I can't please everyone, right? I can just be nice to them, and if they still don't like me then...I don't know, then they don't like me. I'll just try not to lose any sleep over it. |

| cody | (reply to confetti) posted 27-Feb-2001 3:27am I agree with you on the whole school thing, same problem. We should discuss it. We have wisdom for each other in other areas too. You seem to keep a powerful perimeter so I am cautious in approaching you. Sound ok? Email maybe? |
| confetti | (reply to cody) posted 27-Feb-2001 1:58pm Of course...I feel you are somewhat similar to me in ideas and approach. Intelligent--and not into writing a lot of bullcrap. I like all your surveys except for the poem one. My email is: skozicki@cariari.ucr.ac.cr Anyone else is welcome to use it, but don't put me on any mailing lists. |
| cody | (reply to confetti) posted 27-Feb-2001 10:33pm Ok, Ill admit it, the poem survey sucked. Cant we all just move on? Hehe. Thanks. |

| phi | (reply to supplicant) posted 2-Apr-2001 10:25pm I was inspired by a movie -- it's one of the (several) superpowers the Devil has in The Devil's Advocate. |
| supplicant | (reply to phi) posted 3-Apr-2001 10:57pm Hmmm.... in that case... I wonder if being the Devil would count as a "super-human ability"? |
