| they | posted 11-Dec-2000 10:57pm The sound of a hunter's shotgun blasts in the forest behind my home. The sound of yelping hunting dogs that have found something. They sound like they are being tortured.. even though the torture only happens when they are locked in their cages at home or when they are forgotten and left in the wild to fend for themselves. I hate living in these woods. |
| Zang | posted 12-Dec-2000 12:06am Domestic disputes. I think I can sleep through just about anything else. |

| LindaH | (reply to Richard) posted 12-Dec-2000 12:18am I'm curious. Is it loud arguments that bother you, or just any ol' argument, even if it's kept at a reasonable noise level? |

| Jody | posted 12-Dec-2000 10:53am The sound of people chewing. Nails on a blackboard. The sound of something expensive going wrong with needed machinery (cars, dishwashers, and the like). |
| Jemmy | posted 12-Dec-2000 4:29pm Nails scratching on a chalkboard *cringes*, the english student teacher speaking, and when I have a headache, everything, and anything in pain or sad. |

| daver | posted 12-Dec-2000 8:05pm The screeching of abused bearings (typically forewarning the failure of something expensive) is pretty hateful. The sound of oilcanning wings still squicks me a bit. |
| Richard | (reply to LindaH) posted 12-Dec-2000 10:35pm I thought all auguments where loud! |
| LindaH | (reply to Richard) posted 13-Dec-2000 1:24am I thought any disagreement could be considered an argument. Have you ever seen two people in a verbal exchange where you could tell they are mad or annoyed at each other, but they are keeping it pretty quiet? Those are arguments too, aren't they? |
| TeddyMiller | posted 13-Dec-2000 9:39am Street musicians, the bells that street-corner Santas and Salvation Army guys ring, Christmas carols playing over loudspeakers. |
| Richard | (reply to LindaH) posted 13-Dec-2000 8:49pm How can you be mad & quiet @ the same time? |
| Jemmy | (reply to Richard) posted 13-Dec-2000 9:03pm Very easily. I'm very passive. You do it by keeping it locked up insdie and not yelling, sometimes just talking or sometimes not talking to the person you are mad at. |
| Richard | (reply to Jemmy) posted 13-Dec-2000 9:44pm OIC! |
| sexygirl | posted 13-Dec-2000 10:56pm many shopping carts being pushed thru the mall..it drives me nuts |
| LindaH | (reply to Richard) posted 14-Dec-2000 12:09am It's possible. Haven't you ever fumed in silence? I've been in disagreements with others, where we had to keep quiet, but we still exchanged harsh words, or used a rude tone of voice. Those kinds of arguments aren't annoying to overhear, because they aren't loud. |
| anonymous | posted 14-Dec-2000 3:17am I'd have to say the sound of racoons mating at three o clock in the morning in the middle of winter. I swaer I never heard such an awful sound that scared the crap outta me before that. |

| mary | posted 14-Dec-2000 4:23pm eeeeewwwwwweeeee I don't like the sound of any crumpling bags, when some people do it it is worse. I hate the sound of smacking, clapping, chewing, licking, sniffing, phones, when people don't know how to pronounce the "S" sound correctly...especially fake women, wind, babies screaming, that zoom zoom commercial, t.v.'s high pitched sound, that one kind of horn that is always played in movies where the scene is of the city at night........... and the list goes on |
| kirsty | posted 15-Dec-2000 4:39am Someone brushing their teeth..... |
| LindaH | (reply to mary) posted 16-Dec-2000 12:48am Mary, I know what you mean about the fake women with the 's' sound! They almost whistle it, so it comes out a cross between an 's' and a 'z.' If you aren't close enough to hear what they are saying, all you can hear from across the room is sz.......szz...............szzz...sz......szzz..............sz.....sz |
