| Atzilut | posted 19-Jun-1998 11:41am yes. twice. And then I zipped my . . . self in the zipper once. Ow. Ow. Ow. |
| lisashea | posted 19-Jun-1998 12:02pm Nope, until quite recently all my jeans have fit very easily. However, I'm down to biking just once a week (if even) and the scary result means they're getting a bit tight. Time to work on more biking and hiking!! |
| bill | posted 19-Jun-1998 2:06pm No, but in other zippered items I have, especially my winter coats when I was a kid - I use to get my zipper caught a lot. |
| reality | posted 19-Jun-1998 7:49pm how about pants? I have had the zipper on a pair of pants die. of course this was just after(I think) I had gotten up and spoken in front of the wedding. |
| kadai | posted 19-Jun-1998 8:30pm Fail utterly, or temporarily? I always travel with safety pins. |
| hunter | posted 19-Jun-1998 8:58pm I had a bad run with Venezia jeans, but they've improved their zippers in recent years (I actually had a long talk about the vagaries of zipper suppliers with a district manager) and I haven't had a problem recently. Since I usually wear big floppy sweaters, it's never been a huge problem, just a bummer. I've never had one fail due to stress, just bad manufacture. |
| steve | posted 20-Jun-1998 3:37am No, but I've had the fabric nearby fail. Exposing my white-cotton-clad basket to all the world. While I was on stage. Very exciting. |
| Gamera | posted 20-Jun-1998 5:23pm I used to wear my jeans tight, and more than once the whole zipper ripped off the fabric, or just busted. Now I buy better clothes which fit me better &havn't had this problem in a long time. |
| cpierson | posted 22-Jun-1998 9:55am Got to work in the morning, used the loo, zipped up a bit too enthusiastically, and bam! The tab comes up off the top of the fly. Spent 15 futile minutes trying to put it back, then the rest of the day with my gaping fly strategically obscured from view ... |
| Spiegs3 | posted 22-Jun-1998 6:44pm No, but it sometimes it makes me consider Nair or shaving cream and a razor |
| phi | posted 23-Jun-1998 9:55pm Yes, and that's why I don't wear jeans with zippers any more. Well, part of why. |
| jzp | posted 28-Jun-1998 10:35am i'd rather wear button-flys |
| romkey | posted 29-Jun-1998 11:48pm I caught my dick in the zipper once when I was in elementary school. Does that count? |
| eris | posted 10-Jul-1998 8:57pm The buttons in my pants fail far more often than the zippers. What you really don't want, though, is for the zipper to pinch. |
| Mark | posted 14-Jul-1998 4:25pm Usually only when first putting them on, fortunately. |
| gilly | posted 3-Aug-1998 6:23pm Yes, but thankfully, never in a public situation. |
