| natsim | posted 2-Nov-2000 12:55pm Not many things. The things that make me most angry are when I see people exploiting others or not caring for others - structural things mainly. Or biased reporting in the media. I don't really get angry about personal things. |
| BlueberryMuffin | posted 2-Nov-2000 1:05pm Injustice, misuse of superiorities, when life is harmed, general abuse,.. misinformed people who are convinced of their correctness are also terribly annoying. |

| mandy | posted 2-Nov-2000 3:57pm Lately...not a whole helluva lot. I have changed my perspective. I am so Happy Happy...not even my silly Ex Husband and a killer cold/flu bug can spoil my outlook. I realize that getting angry does nothing but hurt me and make annoying situations twice as horrible. getting angry never gets me what I want. Staying calm and being kind seems to make everything smooth itself out faster and easier. It's freaky. Try it. |
| mandy | posted 2-Nov-2000 4:02pm One good trick I learned from a book is to pretend that everyone else in the world is enlightened...except me.... So when people do stuff that makes my blood boil...I step back and pretend that they are enlightened and just trying to teach me something I need to learn...It turns every irritation into a gift. It really works... |

| sunshine | posted 2-Nov-2000 10:38pm Narrow minded people who think I'm gay or something along those lines when they first encounter me seeing my choice in clothing. |
| LindaH | posted 2-Nov-2000 11:10pm People who try to enforce their own personal standards, people who aren't in authority who try to enforce rules, people who assume others are doing something wrong when they aren't. (Unwarranted suspicion and accusations; peer oppression) I think that kind of behavior is patronizing and insulting. On most matters I am pretty mellow, but if someone engages in that kind of behavior where I am concerned, I let them know... without saying anything. |
| romkey | (reply to they) posted 2-Nov-2000 11:25pm do people who say "dude!" make you angry? |

Wow am I angry!!! |
| kaleb777 | (reply to romkey) posted 2-Nov-2000 11:52pm There is an urban myth in Australia that the word 'dude' is an Arabic word for a camels penis. Is that correct? |

Callers that need to wine and dog about nothing important, who think they know what they are talking about, and think that their needs are more important. Corporate pricks who need to be shoved over a cliff. Laptops. Ringing phones at work, no one answering them. Pushy snotty doges who get mad about nothing and call me to complain about it because their parents bought them sports cars when the turned 16 and paid their rent for them. Digital cable that fudges up every so often. Phone ringing at home when I am masturbating. Thinking about that tape I lost a year ago. United Airlines. Joy Fitzjerald. Phil Dent. Stupid fudging phone ringing right now. Ewe ewe ewe ewe ewe.! |

| supplicant | (reply to kaleb777) posted 5-Nov-2000 9:53am Weird, never heard that one. The answer however would very probably be "no, it's not true". Here's how that stupid little thing started among kids: Cool Dude=CD. CD=Camels Dick. Hence dude=dick. Kids always turn everything positive into a negative so they can laugh at people getting called "bad" things when they think it's good. Ha ha. Hilarious isn't it? But yes, that is I believe how this particular urban myth sprang about |

| TheBlackAdder | posted 5-Nov-2000 3:15pm the liars, the proud, the hateful, the stubborn, the foolish, and the unjust. I think the Bible called it righteous indignation? |
| LindaH | (reply to TheBlackAdder) posted 5-Nov-2000 7:43pm Oh cool. It's nice to know that my indignation is righteous. I think of those things I listed earlier as 'unjust.' Funny as it seems, I suppose the people who do those things think that they are righteous too! |
| Jemmy | posted 6-Nov-2000 2:35pm Why does everyone say that stupid people make them angry? It isn't their fault that they aren't very intelligent. |
| Maarten | (reply to Jemmy) posted 6-Nov-2000 3:41pm I just can't stand them. |
| Jemmy | (reply to Maarten) posted 6-Nov-2000 3:45pm Oh. Okay. |
| supplicant | (reply to Jemmy) posted 7-Nov-2000 1:16am It also depends how you use the term "stupid". I don't tend to use it to mean "little education and a low iq" or something along those lines: I use it to mean behaviour which is illogical, obviously 'wrong' (not morally) and causes problems (again not really morally... problems like the car not working because you took to the engine with a baseball bat |
| msgman | (reply to supplicant) posted 7-Nov-2000 5:55am Yeah... that's pretty much what I mean by "self-inflicted ignorance". People who do things like vote for a politician because their favourite rock star does, or who are capable of learning to drive and pass a driving test but can't be bothered to learn to park straight. People who think that talking loudly and slowly makes foreigners able to understand English. People who use ignorance as an excuse to avoid work ("will you print this document for me - I don't understand computers"). People who blame other people for their own failure to read instructions. |
| supplicant | (reply to msgman) posted 7-Nov-2000 10:24am Oooh, good examples. Yeah, that's exactly the sort of thing I mean by the term "stupid". Self-inflicted ignorance is a good term for it |
| anonymous | posted 7-Nov-2000 2:03pm y'all were ignorant too, once upon a time (unless you were born knowing everything). these so-called stupid people would benefit more from compassion than contempt, and so would you. that's a difficult thing to remember, but i think it's worthwhile. |
| Jemmy | (reply to supplicant) posted 7-Nov-2000 2:59pm Okay, so more like dense than stupid. |
| anonymous | (reply to anonymous) posted 8-Nov-2000 7:10am Y'all are obviously one of them. |

| Krisstah | posted 9-Nov-2000 1:06pm Hay, thats a good question to ask me... Lately I have been mad at everything.. Ummm... Lets see, i got mad at my boyfriend for kicking me in his sleep, i got mad at a girl in Sub-way for looking at me, i got mad at a guy in Wendy's for bumping into my friend, I got mad at My Bingo dabber for me not winning, I got made a a kid calling my name and not meaning me.. I telling, this was a question for me, because i get mad at everything.. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to kaleb777) posted 10-Nov-2000 5:23pm There's a joke (among us witty Semitic linguists) that every Arabic word means its meaning, its opposite, something having to do with sex, and something having to do with camels. That should give you some idea of the wide range of meaning for any given Arabic word. The root that "dude" would come from in Arabic is the root that means both "beloved" and "uncle" in other Semitic languages, although I don't know what it means in Arabic; I'd say it's entirely conceivable that it could mean a camel's penis. I've heard that it's a term for a horse's penis, too, but I wasn't told that that meaning stemmed from Arabic. |
| Mozluvr | posted 10-Nov-2000 7:29pm Oh, it depends on my mood, really.. Sometimes a fly buzzing around my head or the happy shouts of a child can turn me berzerk, but othertimes my brother can be sawing into my arm with a steak knife for no apparent reason and I can be cool.... it's a curious thing, this.... |
| kaleb777 | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 11-Nov-2000 7:33am That's very enlightening. Thank you. I will never see Sadam Hussein in quite the same light again. |

| sequel | (reply to they) posted 15-Nov-2000 12:26am There's this stuff similar to Nair I got a while back that claimed to remove the hair and after x number of applications, it's not supposed to grow back. It actually worked for me (so far anyway). I will have to go dig up the name...it's Epi-something. They also have laser treatments these days that are supposed to kill the hair once and for all, but they're quite expensive and I don't know if they really do keep it away for good. |
| they | (reply to sequel) posted 15-Nov-2000 9:18am Yeah, Laser hair removal is on my 'to do when I am rich' list. I just tried Nads(I'm sure you've seen the commercials).. and it seems to work okay, but it is very time consuming and hard to do on your own body since you have to be at a certain angle.. I used to use hot wax but I had the same problem. Until I find the perfect cure, I'll have to keep shaving I guess. |
| Kat_Da_Cutie | posted 22-Nov-2000 1:11am I get angry when i see a movie with some sort of disaster happening and an animal is left behind to die(there just as important as ppl) Also when animals are killed by humans (eg the horse not the horseman) |

| juliw | posted 23-Feb-2001 8:10pm rude people, anyone who abuses animals and/or people, people who are able o work but don't, just so they can use my tax dollars for public assistance, people who talk to the bank teller for a long while after completing their transaction, when I am next in line, when the new payroll clerk at my office informs me that she accidentally forgot to enter my data AGAIN. I get angry when people try to be very bossy and dictating, when people bring up mistakes I made in the distant past, when people are chronically late in meeting me somewhere, when someone calls me, then leaves me on hold to get their "call waiting", and people who act "holier than thou" |
