16I'm an occasional watcher of the series.
6I've never seen the series.
4I feel a preternatural compulsion to, in my comment, trash anyone who watches X-files, or indeed TV in general, and moreover anyone sufficiently bereft of a life to make a survey about it.
8Boy that Chris Carter sure is a pill sometimes.

Note that I am, to a large extent, resisting the compulsion.

Ha! Nice options...I will probably see it if I remember to and my schedule is cooperative. If I miss it I won't be heartbroken. I've seen maybe a dozen X-Files episodes total, so I'll probably miss a large chunk of the underlying plot.

I don't really like X-files. I don't think it will be an amazing movie

I may or may not decide to see it when it hits HBO or some other movie channel. I dont' see the need to see it in the theatre ebcause I dont' watch the show anyways.

I never saw the TV show and don't really have an interest in seeing the movie.

I'm not expecting much more than a 2-hour X-Files episode in 1.85:1 aspect ratio, but who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

You left off "I've seen the show once or twice and haven't cared to see any more of it."

I'm planning to see it the second day, that assumes I can find a sitter. I totally forgot that it was coming out this weekend. I watch the series, but am only interested in episodes involving the sub-plots, so I don't mind missing most episodes. (By the way, where's I will see it eventually?)

I've only seen part of some episodes, but I've never been able to see it entirely, mainly for a lack of interest.

I used to watch it regularly. About a month ago Fox started scrambling their satellite feeds so now I no longer watch any Fox programming.

Bill - I can? I didn't realize any were available for subscription except the Denver 6 Pack and I've never looked into the restrictions they place on who may sign up. Besides, I prefer to watch on east coast time. Actually, the main reason I haven't tried harder to find one to subscribe to is just being annoyed at having to pay subscription prices for commercial television.

steve: *clicks stopwatch* Wow. you got here faster than I expected you would. Don't you have a life, boy? *runs and hides under the bed*

Glen: I want to believe. . .

Badtz: no dear, I didn't leave it off...that's what the 'other' option is for. Now take your meds and run along.

elijah: Chris Carter is the creator of the X files. An Ourobouros (I might be spelling that wrong) is the "serpent-eating-its-tail" which shows up in "Millenium," another Chris Carter series which I adore, somewhat more than X-Files.

I checked yes, I'll go see it the first show on the day it opens, but that's not quite correct. I am going opening night, actually. I'm at work at 11 AM. * smile * But I WILL see it opening night, damn you!

I like the series, but I am indifferent about the movie. I just can't get into the serial-like plots that go on season after season. The make me feel like a mule following a carrot.

I just saw it...it was a pretty cool episode with a bigger budget and more sudden scares/violence/gore. I had what might be an insight...my friend commented that it hadn't really told us anything and I said that Carter can't because any "truth" he told us would inherently be false and unsatisfying. What do you folks think of that idea?

Orouboros? Dab, you could pay for a FOX channel out of some big city, there are a couple who go out over C-BAND.

***Hunter, I agree as well. Any truth would be scrutinized by us - the vaguer the details, the easier it is to prolong it. I've personally been complaining to friends that he's been teasing us for too long, that I just want the answers now. There have been answers though, we basically know what the conspiracy is now. I think what I really want is a conclusion, and end to it. ...but this wouldn't be good for the series.

I'm going to go see it. I'm going to go see it on opening day, in fact, a matinee. I expect that it will be two hours of exactly the same bullcrap I've gotten used to from the series, with better effects and the characters able to swear. I expect the exact same feeling like everything is coming together at the end, and when you go back and think about it, you have learned exactly nothing, and there are still as many or more open dangly questions left by the "quick sweep it under the rug in the last 10 minutes" as we started with.

But I'm hoping to be surprised... :)

Bill, Hunter: Yup. It's like any other "quest oriented" show (Battlestar Galactica, Voyager, etc...) - if they acheive their goal, the show loses its motivation. However, I was really impressed by the limo scene in which the british guy tells Mulder EXACTLY what's going on! Despite the fact that I think my prediction was about 90% correct, that scene and the general quality of the film redeemed it for me somewhat. It was a GOOD two-hour episode, I thought.

I might have seen the series once, and don't intend to see the movie, but *GOSH* the male X-files person (whose name escapes me) is a cutie!

I saw it when it came out, but don't remember if it was the day of or later. Interesting that there is no option that one will see (has seen) it, but not in the first few days, and not based on reports or reviews.

I've seen a couple of episodes in passing; I may even have sat through one or two in their entirety, but wouldn't call myself even an "occasional" watcher. I might see the movie if I'm with folks who see it; otherwise I probably never will.

I've gone from leaving the room when friends were watching the show to being there for the first show the day it opened and then seeing it again at a drive-in! What have y'all done to me?!?!?
