Working for a company that does a lot of shipping gives me a good view point on this. I would use U.P.S.; they provide a tracking number and have a reasonable cost. I would also insure anything of value.

UPS in the country, DHL out of the country.

It depends on the situation. If it has to be there tomorrow, I'd pick FedEx (they've only screwed up once). If it just has to be there sometime soon, I'd use UPS (their rates are a little lower). If it's books, I'd use USPS bookrate...ain't nothing cheaper if you don't care when it gets there. I use USPS Priority Mail fairly frequently and have had good luck, except during the holidays. To Western Europe or Australia, if timing isn't important we use USPS Airmail and that seems to work, eventually. If it's to Asia or Eastern Europe, I go with FedEx (they were the only ones who would deliver in Uzbekistan). I ship a lot of stuff, both personally and for work and this is the pattern I've developed.

I've used all except FedEx.

If UPS were handier I'd use them instead, although if both are equally easy I'll go with Fedex. I don't really trust DHL or Airborne Express, although I have no logical reason for this.

I can only pick one? I have used USPS, UPS, and FedEx and I'll probably continue to use all three.

Personally I use the USPS. At work I use FEDEX, as we have an account with them.

I generally opt for Fedex cause they've screwed up the least of any shipping company in my experiences with them. It's easy to set up an account with them and vey easy to use them, easier than it is to use UPS, in my experience.

Depends. National postal service, in general, or DHL if it's going to a different country. I've used UPS and Federal Express.

Depends on how important it is. A paperback book for a friend? USPS. My latest novel for review by a publisher? Fed Ex.

I, as a personal, tend to use national postal services. In my job, I use U.P.S. or D.H.L. mostly.

...any money is no object? FedEx (excellent service, and there is a hub within 1/2 mile of my house); ...and I want to save a few bucks? USPS (I use them to send/receive packages [usually used computer games] on a monthly basis - very reliable, very affordable) UPS is OK, but I've had some annoyances with them. Having a tracking number is a cool thing (both UPS and FedEX have a nice web-interface for this).

I put USPS, mostly because my brother works there and he.d go postal if he found out I didn't * wink *

Any of them really. I have good experience with all of them.

I try not have to have to mail anything. working for a mail order company has shown me exactly how unreliable all of these companies are. chances are I would use UPS if it was larger, or the post office if it was small.

I send lots of packages overseas and I've always used the USPS. It's relatively cheap and it gets there.

I really don't mail packages all that often.

I prefer FedEx over UPS, and DHL internationally, but US postal service does a fine job if there is no hurry

Well, that depends whether I actually want it to get there... * smile * I use Airborne. UPS Sucks!

Whatever's cheapest, assuming that time isn't important.

I just recently had an incredible series of annoyances with UPS (hint, guys: When the little slip says "Cash Only" and I try to give you CASH you should accept it! It's legal tender for all debts, public and private!) and I'm unwilling to use them in the future.
