| Richard | posted 17-Oct-2000 11:44pm It depends on my mood. |
| Zang | posted 18-Oct-2000 12:42am I don't mind. Sometimes it bothers me when I'm in a hurry and someone gets in line in front of me. If I wasn't in a hurry it wouldn't bother me though. I'm quite patient. When we had an expo here, I went with some buddies, stoned on acid. We deliberately got into the longest line ups assuming that if the line was long, it must be good. As we were approaching the end of one line, my buddy said (loud) "If they start handing out soap, RUN!" |
| LindaH | posted 18-Oct-2000 2:07am Depends on if I am in a hurry |
| kaleb777 | posted 18-Oct-2000 4:56am I hate waiting while the dumb fudge at the window talks crap to someone, or when someone comes to the line totally unprepared and they have to write something out while others wait. I hate it when people next to me in line stink or are sick and cough all the time. I hate it when kids stare at me, or try to talk to me or scream or grab stuff. I hate standing in line when I'm hungry and start feeling like I'm going to fall over. |
| Jody | posted 18-Oct-2000 9:21am I dislike standing in line and waiting in traffic because they're both wastes of time. If I suspect I might have to stand in line, I bring a book or magazine to read. |
| North79 | posted 18-Oct-2000 9:37am It is one the most frustrating things in the universe. I would rather walk ten blocks to avoid standing in line than stand in line for 15 minutes. Similarly, I will arrive at an event very early in order to avoid being at the back of a line. |
| cpierson | posted 18-Oct-2000 9:51am Normally, yes -- I'd rather not have to put up with lines to buy groceries or use the ATM. But sometimes, like when you're lining up for a movie, it's part of the experience. |
| they | posted 18-Oct-2000 11:26am I get nervous. |
| Jemmy | posted 18-Oct-2000 11:26am Yes. I think chairs on wheels like in offices should be supplied if you have to stand for more than 30 minutes. |
| Maarten | posted 18-Oct-2000 3:51pm No, I hate it. |
| hbmonson | posted 18-Oct-2000 5:36pm It depends on what it is for. If it's for something I'm really interested in (say a cool new movie), then I don't mind. If it's in the store, it can get old. |
| mandy | posted 18-Oct-2000 8:10pm Only for food! |
| Pomeranian | posted 18-Oct-2000 9:36pm I don't think I will ever like it, but I don't fume and stomp or otherwise try to show my displeasure anymore. |
| Hotbabe | posted 18-Oct-2000 9:38pm It depends for what purpose I'm standing in line for, what mood I'm in and also if I have the time to spare. |
| romkey | posted 19-Oct-2000 1:40pm I don't mind standing in line if the line's not too long; if it looks like the people servicing the line are being really incompetent or if people are trying to short-cut the line that I'm standing it I usually get really annoyed. |
| jettles | posted 19-Oct-2000 4:06pm depends |
| jkiehart | posted 3-Nov-2000 3:23pm Nah. I always carry a book and little games and stuff. When you live in New York, you get used to it. I enjoy taking in the people around me making snotty little noises and shuffling their feet and looking at their watches every 30 seconds. |
| jkiehart | (reply to Zang) posted 3-Nov-2000 3:24pm HAHAHAHAHA! Oh that's funny! So, what was at the end of the line? |
| Zang | (reply to jkiehart) posted 3-Nov-2000 7:12pm I don't remember, stuff looted from King Tut's tomb, one of those theaters where the screen goes all the way 'round the room...(?) |
| TellerChick | posted 9-Nov-2000 11:43am I don't like it if the people in front of me are doing foolish things that they should have already had prepared i.e: Writing a check and farting around with it. |
| Jane | posted 20-Nov-2000 7:38pm Generally no, but sometimes you meet the coolest people while standing in line, especially at amusement parks and places like that. |
| Jemmy | (reply to Jane) posted 20-Nov-2000 8:03pm I hate standing in line at amusement parks. If I have to wait a long time, I talk myself out of going, even though I always have a blast on rollercoasters and stuff. |
| Jane | (reply to Jemmy) posted 22-Nov-2000 4:51pm Thats too bad, cause rollercoasters are so much fun, aren't they? I think the only reason I have a fond association with lines at amusement parks is because I met my last boyfriend in one. It was a really long wait, about 2 hours, so we had plenty of time to talk, and we ended up hitting it off. |
| Jemmy | (reply to Jane) posted 22-Nov-2000 6:36pm Yeah, they're cool. Really? That's really funny, a different way to meet people. Maybe I should try it! |
| Jane | (reply to Jemmy) posted 22-Nov-2000 7:07pm I recommend it! |
| mireillens | posted 19-Dec-2000 12:57pm It depends on what I'm standing in line for, how long it is, & how quickly it is moving... |
