| bill | posted 11-Jun-1998 11:56pm be nice people! I'll wait to see how steve feels about it... |
| hunter | posted 12-Jun-1998 3:07am I don't think steve has gotten any grumpier. I think survey quality has gone down significantly in the last couple of weeks. I've actually thought about suggesting to Bill that he make it such that one cannot create surveys until one has answered some arbitrary number, or for three days after signing up, or whatever. Something to encourage people to take a little time and get a feel for the site before they start using it fully. On the other hand, I feel like some of the oldsters have been creating less-than-stellar surveys, themselves. I think partly this is because a lot of questions have been asked and so people are trying to be more creative and asking trickier questions, but I definitely feel that some questions/answers could have used a little more thought. I haven't been commenting on this much because steve and other forthright folk have been taking care of it for me, but I had noticed earlier today that it's been a while since I rated a survey "good." As I've said before, if you get complaints about your surveys, I think that's a challenge to make your surveys better, not a call for whines. |
| Jaime | posted 12-Jun-1998 8:54am Don't like personal surveys, sorry. |
| jjg | posted 12-Jun-1998 9:39am No, it's stayed about the same. Even though I'm not an old timer (only been doing this for a month or so), I did take all the old surveys; so I have a basis for opinion. |
| fiore | posted 12-Jun-1998 10:48am I don't think so and I think directing a survey towards someone isn't really nice unless they post it themselves. Steve usually has good responses. |
| lisashea | posted 12-Jun-1998 10:54am Sheesh, again I'm going from top-to-bottom and haven't seen any grumpiness! Plus, who cares :) He can be grumpy if he wants to. |
| Atzilut | posted 12-Jun-1998 11:23am I've lit a novena candle and am praying for the return of The Happy Steve. I adore this survey. "But then," you're probably saying to yourself. . ".You would. ." Daver: you have some nerve complaining that something is "irrelevant". . have you read some of the other surveys on here? Irrelevant indeed. . . |
| daver | posted 12-Jun-1998 11:26am You know, whether or not he has is irrelevant. I don't like these types of surveys... **romkey: Understood. If steve had done this survey himself I would have been amused. When someone else did it, I wasn't sure if this was meant as jest, as sniping, or what. Sarcasm travels so well over the wire... **Atzilut: It is irrelevant to whether or not I like these type of surveys... |
| romkey | posted 12-Jun-1998 11:53am Sorry, I just had to do it. Bill I hope you will freely nuke any surveys created by me that you consider worthy of nuking. Even I am rating my own survey "bad". *** daver - sorry, it wasn't meant as anything dogy or nasty at Steve, I was just repeating a question almost verbatim that he'd asked himself in a comment in another survey. It's a joke. *** daver - yeah, in person there'd be a deadpan delivery and then after a pause a big grin, and that's hard to do in HTML.... :) I do understand your concern about sniping and can see it that way too. |
| Mark | posted 12-Jun-1998 1:23pm Not unnecessarily so! |
| reality | posted 12-Jun-1998 1:25pm does it matter? |
| steve | posted 12-Jun-1998 2:31pm I'm very, very amused. |
