If you had the chance to have any one question of an all knowing entity answered what would you ask?

I'm not going to write the actual question here, but it has something to do with how I can help someone I care about a lot and don't know how to help.

A little tricky to answer, since the existence of an all knowing entity would seriously skew my worldview.

I wouldn't.

This would require way more active thought than I could be provided with at this time. If you ask me again in, oh say, twenty years I may just be starting to form a thought.

Something trivial. I probably wouldn't want to know the answers to the big ones.

I would ask if life really does end when a person dies, or if it continues, and if it continues, in what manner does it. It seems awfully sad that a person spends their life accumulating knowledge and wisdom and empathy, and that this vast knowledge just goes *poof* when the shell disintegrates.

***FIR: Why is the question wasted? A person asks what is important to that person. I think "who are you?" is as valid as any other question. I could care less what the winning lottery number is. :)

You people are missing the point. Don't you want to know the answer to some question? Don't you have anything you would want to ask that has some importance or use? At least ask them what the winning lottery numbers are or SOMETHING, don't waste it on "who are you?", what if they say "Jimmy" then you wasted the question, you only get one question. ***answer: "Why what?" ***please guys call me random. OK, fine I'm just saying that with such a vast amount of questions that I thought that would be unproductive to ask, but this is a survey and all are entitled. I used the lottery as an example, I wouldn't ask something like that.

"What is gravity" of course. At least right now as I'm in the middle of this flood of new Survey Central questions.

Random - if they answered "Jimmy" to "who are you" then they haven't answered the question have they? That's just a name.

Where did I get this image of two puppets ... (one of them evilly saying "Allo, princessa") ... that has plagued me for about 30 years now? ...

I've thought about this one and I can't come up with anything that really makes sense to ask.

"Why?"

*** I didn't know two other people had already given the same question! If I remember correctly, this came from a Pete Seeger song I first heard in my childhood (before most of you were born! * wink *

*** Jen: Yes.

All the answers which I need and desire are either known to me or within my grasp through any of a variety of means. Thus, the one question which I would truly be interested in is, "How do you feel?"

Who are you?

Hey Romkey just answered Ron, does that mean he's the "all knowing entity"? ...I knew he was the alpha male, but all knowing too, wow!

can i have your autograph?

or maybe (if i wasn't feeling quite so flippant), what is the most elegant mathematical/logical proof of your existence/non-existence? in the long run, the autograph would probably be worth more * smile *

"Why doesn't this !@(((@#&@!@# program compile!?!?!?" Well, no, probably not, but right now it feels that way. If it's an all-knowing benevolent entity, I'd just as soon leave the question up to it... that is, I'd ask some variant of "What answer to what question would it be most useful to me to receive right now?" If that's cheating, I might ask for a practical, ethical, and risk-free way to make $10^8 or so. If it's a malevolent or otherwise untrustworthy allknowing entity, why bother asking? I can't trust the answer anyway.

Does it have to be in a question form? I'd prefer to say "Tell me whatever I most need to know."

Since you're not the all knowing entity, I'm not telling you what my question will be.
