| elijahblue | posted 11-Jun-1998 6:55pm I'm not going to write the actual question here, but it has something to do with how I can help someone I care about a lot and don't know how to help. |
| Pomeranian | posted 11-Jun-1998 6:57pm Why did you resign? |
| hunter | posted 11-Jun-1998 7:06pm Is it just me, or is it crazy in here? |
| daver | posted 11-Jun-1998 8:34pm A little tricky to answer, since the existence of an all knowing entity would seriously skew my worldview. |
| phi | posted 11-Jun-1998 10:41pm I wouldn't. |
| Jaime | posted 12-Jun-1998 8:37am "Who are you?" |
| jjg | posted 12-Jun-1998 9:44am This would require way more active thought than I could be provided with at this time. If you ask me again in, oh say, twenty years I may just be starting to form a thought. |
| Atzilut | posted 12-Jun-1998 10:34am **I cannot respond to this, the question is ill-posed. |
| fiore | posted 12-Jun-1998 10:47am "Who are you, what do you want, and where are you?" |
| jonas | posted 12-Jun-1998 12:50pm Something trivial. I probably wouldn't want to know the answers to the big ones. |
| reality | posted 12-Jun-1998 1:23pm why? |
| lisashea | posted 12-Jun-1998 5:36pm I would ask if life really does end when a person dies, or if it continues, and if it continues, in what manner does it. It seems awfully sad that a person spends their life accumulating knowledge and wisdom and empathy, and that this vast knowledge just goes *poof* when the shell disintegrates. ***FIR: Why is the question wasted? A person asks what is important to that person. I think "who are you?" is as valid as any other question. I could care less what the winning lottery number is. :) |
| FateIsRandom | posted 12-Jun-1998 5:50pm You people are missing the point. Don't you want to know the answer to some question? Don't you have anything you would want to ask that has some importance or use? At least ask them what the winning lottery numbers are or SOMETHING, don't waste it on "who are you?", what if they say "Jimmy" then you wasted the question, you only get one question. ***answer: "Why what?" ***please guys call me random. OK, fine I'm just saying that with such a vast amount of questions that I thought that would be unproductive to ask, but this is a survey and all are entitled. I used the lottery as an example, I wouldn't ask something like that. |
| dab | posted 12-Jun-1998 7:40pm "What is gravity" of course. At least right now as I'm in the middle of this flood of new Survey Central questions. Random - if they answered "Jimmy" to "who are you" then they haven't answered the question have they? That's just a name. |
| Lorax | posted 12-Jun-1998 9:49pm Where did I get this image of two puppets ... (one of them evilly saying "Allo, princessa") ... that has plagued me for about 30 years now? ... |
| lelle | posted 14-Jun-1998 8:34pm I've thought about this one and I can't come up with anything that really makes sense to ask. |
| Mark | posted 15-Jun-1998 5:10pm "Why?" *** I didn't know two other people had already given the same question! If I remember correctly, this came from a Pete Seeger song I first heard in my childhood (before most of you were born! *** Jen: Yes. |
| ron2112 | posted 15-Jun-1998 11:52pm You know that guy Seal....what's up with that dude's face?!? |
| BenevolentMagus | posted 16-Jun-1998 6:51am All the answers which I need and desire are either known to me or within my grasp through any of a variety of means. Thus, the one question which I would truly be interested in is, "How do you feel?" |
| romkey | posted 16-Jun-1998 3:22pm |
| bill | posted 16-Jun-1998 8:03pm Who are you? Hey Romkey just answered Ron, does that mean he's the "all knowing entity"? ...I knew he was the alpha male, but all knowing too, wow! |
| nbarone | posted 17-Jun-1998 11:59pm can i have your autograph? or maybe (if i wasn't feeling quite so flippant), what is the most elegant mathematical/logical proof of your existence/non-existence? in the long run, the autograph would probably be worth more |
| BadtzMaru | posted 27-Jun-1998 5:52am "Hey, where's the beef?" "Does this bug you? Does this bug you?" |
| Jody | posted 22-Jul-1998 8:55am What happens to us after death? |
| Timmi | posted 25-Jul-1998 6:22pm Why? ***The nature of the answer, "why not", etc., also tells me what I want to know. |
| LawDog | posted 26-Jul-1998 2:57am Why |
| dpolicar | posted 28-Jul-1998 5:42pm "Why doesn't this !@(((@#&@!@# program compile!?!?!?" Well, no, probably not, but right now it feels that way. If it's an all-knowing benevolent entity, I'd just as soon leave the question up to it... that is, I'd ask some variant of "What answer to what question would it be most useful to me to receive right now?" If that's cheating, I might ask for a practical, ethical, and risk-free way to make $10^8 or so. If it's a malevolent or otherwise untrustworthy allknowing entity, why bother asking? I can't trust the answer anyway. |
| Doom03 | posted 3-Aug-1998 1:44am What's the best way to get a date? |
| gilly | posted 13-Aug-1998 3:41pm Does it have to be in a question form? I'd prefer to say "Tell me whatever I most need to know." |
| eloradanan | (reply to FateIsRandom) posted 22-May-2006 2:26am Since you're not the all knowing entity, I'm not telling you what my question will be. |
