Undesirable to whom? I'll have to assume others, because otherwise none of these would be vices for me. I enthusiastically enjoy all my bad habits. I wouldn't see any point if I didn't.

In August I spent:
Cigarettes $188.33
Alcohol* $137.70
Other Sweets $15.21
Chocolate $3.00

*Alcohol includes drinks bought for friends, food bought in bars, and tips.

I don't really have any that cost money. I rarely smoke(~10 cigarettes/month)and when I do, it's free, I'm not into drugs or anything. The closest thing I Can think of is $19.95/month on internet. Must have my Survey Central and e-mail!

Overeating and alcohol are in a dead heat for me. Thank god my metabolism keeps me thin, and thank god I don't get harsh hangovers.

I agree with your point about vices not necessarily being undesirable!

Shopping. And I used to spend whatever I had. Now I don't spend anything, because I am saving up for a trip I am going on in May.

I don't really have tangible vices. I think spending $4.00/month on coffee beans doesn't really constitute a vice, but it's all I've got.
It used to be books. I used to buy lots because they're so nice, and they ended up on my bookshelves and I didn't have time to read them all. I stopped buying books 3 years ago, and I still haven't finished reading the ones I bought.

I spend about $80 or $90 a month on comics books, if that's considered a vice.

Oh, I suppose alcohol... $10 a month maybe? Of course, I do a LOT of gambling, but in the timespan of a month, I almost always come out ahead.

It's not so much that I don't have any vices, it's just that I don't have the money to spend on them.

Yes, I came to that same realization. Why do I buy books when I haven't finished the others (of course they're mostly spiritual references), but still. Likewise I've curtailed hobbies. Why start new projects when I have dozens I haven't completed. (& hundreds on the drawing board (or spreadsheets))

Notebooks, and Ink pens.
I can't help myself. They stare out at me from the shelves---....... They have so much potential.. Write in me.. write with me.. let me create... use me... let me be your creative tool. (There's nothing like the smell of a new notebook.)

Although They soon realize that I have nothing to offer.

Oh well.

Hmm. And on top of that I drink *way* too much coffee.

Books. I read constantly. I once blew a $100 bonus from work at Barnes & Noble.

I see that no one has selected pornography. We are all on line so we don't have to pay for it any more. I have an enormous collection of rare and unusual pornographic magazines worth about $5000 that I started collecting when I was just a lad. I haven't bought any since I got on the net.

I spend more on alcohol than I do on the rest of this stuff, but I don't spend much on that. I probably average about $10-15 a week, if that, all of it in pubs so it comes up to about three to five beers.
Maarten
(reply to joachim) posted 27-Sep-2000 4:41pm
You pay $3,- for one beer in a pub?? Jesus... I'd never get drunk in that case!
In my pub you pay about $1,25 for 1 glass (0,3 liters) of Heineken from the draught.

I blow a nice amount of money on computer equipment... I don't think I've ever spent more than about $600 in one month. Usually it's not even that high, but when I find myself with lots of freetime to shop online, watch out.
