I read the ingredients looking for panthenol or other silicones while avoiding glycol or lanolin. I also seek high placement of the herbal content, like aloe.

I always read the ingredients and pick shampoos/conditioners that contain some type of protein and as little oil and alcohol as possible.

normal, though I may be an oily -- I'm just in denial.

I have to make sure it doesn't make my hair stiff, as it is naturally curly. (Lucky me, right?) Otherwise I can't get a comb/brush through it. I don't care much about the scent, as long as it doesn't smell bad.

I buy shampoo for normal colored hair, but it has to smell good, and I buy conditioner based on scent and how silky it makes my hair.

I buy it for the scent since I've never really found a shampoo that does wonders for my hair, although I have learned to stay away from the really cheap stuff.

I usually buy the one that smells good, and is for normal hair. Right now I am using Herbal Esence, which I really like. The only thing is, it doesn't make me orgasim like those women in the comericals. Do you think I could get my money back if I wrote them?

My folks buy shampoo/conditioner from the house.

I heard that Herbal Essence was designed to be able to be used as a sexual lubricant as well as a hair care product. Whether or not that is true, I tried the conditioner as a lubricant and it actually worked very well. I had an orgasm. * smile *

I find that I am very sensitive to the scent of the shampoo when I am washing my hair so try to find one with as little scent as possible otherwise I sneeze myself silly in the shower.

A bit of both, it must have a good purpose, although scent is not that important, its important that it doesn't smell bad.

Ah, so you only select products for which you aren't the first guinea pig? I don't like knowing there are furrless rabbits out there with scarred tissue, but on the other hand three generations of mice probably could have prevented thalidamide babies. Personally I buy cage free eggs, having volunteered first hand at an organic egg ranch in which you had isles of cages 2' wide, 6 hens per cage, dropping on the lower tiers, conveyor fed, never seeing sunlight. (An earthquake that occurred an hour after I denounced God knocked over some aisles) Perhaps you should compromise with 'humane research', before some genetic hair conditioner starts growing hair on the eyeballs of our offspring.
I alternate between pretty smelling and usefull conditioners depending on the days weathar and my agenda.

You orgasmed? Maybe I'm defective then. I've never had an orgasim. But I've never used the conditioner so maybe I should try that one.

You have to rub it on your genitals...not your scalp.

Toothpaste? I have never heard of that one before. Do I need a specific brand?

I was about 14 when I discovered the awesome wonder of using toothpaste as a genital lubricant. I suppose one of those wintergreen camphor back sprain medications would be just as memorable.

I definitely buy a shampoo according to its purpose; I don't like strong scents: they can affect my breathing.
