Depends. If I'm making only one I often just wrap it in Saran Wrap and nuke it until cooked (usually about a minute or so). I've been known for boiling a few in a small pan (break them into halves or thirds). If I have to cook a lot of them when I'm in a hurry and I know I'll be in the kitchen the whole time, I just use a pressure cooker (trust me on this, you don't want to leave the kitchen when you are using a pressure cooker).

Far too fiddley for far much frustration.

We steam them in our steamer. We used to just boil them though (before we had a steamer).

I hadn't even thought to try cooking it in my steamer/rice cooker. (Probably because I think of it as a rice cooker and the only other thing I've ever cooked in it is salmon.) I bet it would work great...I think I'll try it. Thanks, Bill!

Our steamer is more of a steamer than a rice cooker - it's clear plastic and has shelves with holes in them. We used to have a rice cooker that I wouldn't have steamed corn in - but, I could have.
It looks something like this: http://gametz.epinions.com/hmgd-Steamers-Oster-Oster_Food_Steamer

Whoa, high tech! Ours is just the little one bowl style, but the instructions say it'll do corn on the cob. I like being able to put in the right amount of water and then not have to time it. It just shuts off when it's done. Plus it'll save bringing the water to a boil and watching it so it doesn't boil over. I may start cooking corn more often if this works well!

I prefer it raw, but I have cooked it by various methods.

Well, I've cooked corn on the cob in my rice steamer twice now. It works like a charm! Thanks for waking me up to the idea! How can I ever repay you?
