| Jemmy | posted 15-Aug-2000 5:40pm Never had one, if you mean a relationship with an SO. |
| natsim | posted 15-Aug-2000 5:41pm I had a long distance relationship for 4.5 years and it didn't work. I don't think it would have lasted so long if we were in the same city. |
| drdt | posted 15-Aug-2000 9:03pm Once the disance was eliminated, that was pretty much the end of it. |
| Zang | posted 15-Aug-2000 10:31pm No. I had one when I was a teenager that lasted a couple of years. |
| Andyroo | posted 15-Aug-2000 11:19pm I'll let everyone know later because I'm in one right now. So far it's worked for 10 and a half months. |
| Ky_Mcg | posted 16-Aug-2000 12:45am I wouldn't be able to survive in a long distance relationship. No sex, no seeing her or doing things with her all the time...Andyroo though. Now there's a guy I admire. over 10 months! Wow! |
| SweetKisses | posted 16-Aug-2000 12:58am Well, I'm going with what Andyroo said right now. I'm currently in one that's been working for 7 months... but as of ones I've had before, they never worked. |
| kirst | posted 16-Aug-2000 1:27am Yes! It took several years, though. Nine months after my SO moved to Hong Kong, we broke up. We didn't see each other for 2 years. We eventually got back together, starting "dating" (I lived in Florida, he was still in Hong Kong), and eventually married. |
| Hotbabe | posted 16-Aug-2000 4:34am Sort of. When I met my SO, he had to go away for 3 months only 2 weeks after we met. While he was away we built up a friendship and when he got back, we got it on! |
| Wicksy | posted 16-Aug-2000 4:49am Is 90km a long distance relationship? |
| Guthrie | posted 16-Aug-2000 6:22am The longest distance was covered in a one-and-a-half hour drive. Probably not the kind of distance meant here but it was a lot at the time! |
| Lauren | posted 16-Aug-2000 9:53am No I have never had one. I think long distance relationships are really hard to keep up with. I applaud everyone who has one and makes it work. One of my SO's moved away and we decided to just break up. |
| Enheduanna | posted 16-Aug-2000 10:37am Nope. They have never worked for me. |
| Timmer | (reply to SweetKisses) posted 16-Aug-2000 12:25pm How far away are you from each other? |
| SweetKisses | (reply to Timmer) posted 16-Aug-2000 1:05pm I'm not sure if this is what was meant by a long distance relationship, we don't live all that far, but we live in different cities, about an hour apart. |
| Timmer | (reply to SweetKisses) posted 16-Aug-2000 1:35pm That's long distance. I needs to be living in the same town or I'll get lonely and move on to another girl! |
| JRenee | posted 16-Aug-2000 2:49pm I wouldn't be able to handle not seeing my boyfriend. |
| Amz | posted 16-Aug-2000 3:08pm Not a romantic one. I have a good friend who's overseas for a little bit. |
| Dewytheladysman | posted 16-Aug-2000 3:23pm I wouldn't attempt to have one because I hear they're hard and they never work. |
| jettles | posted 16-Aug-2000 6:44pm the relationship that i am currently in, we have been together 5 years. after we were together about a year to a year and a half, i moved 800 miles away.(she stayed in NY, i moved to florida.) we lived apart for a year, at first we saw each other every month and then when that became impossible financially, we visited every other month. there were of course, problems, but we were able by keeping communication honest and open to work things out. she moved to florida when she was ready and we are doing well. |
| RaveDevil | posted 17-Aug-2000 1:32am I'm kinda in the middle of one with a girl from Germany...we'll see how that works out...hopefully we'll keep in contact. :) |
| Wicksy | (reply to SweetKisses) posted 17-Aug-2000 7:23am Maybe you should find someone else!! Like me!! lol lol |
| SweetKisses | (reply to Wicksy) posted 18-Aug-2000 12:46am LOL, well first of all, you're even farther than my boyfriend, and I couldn't stand not being with him, as much as I flirt. |
| Wicksy | (reply to SweetKisses) posted 18-Aug-2000 4:28am Ah, that's sweet!! You really like him then? |
| dreemilyn | posted 18-Aug-2000 8:08pm It worked a little bit, lasted for like 6 months..but his dad found out and didn't like the idea. Oops. |
| SweetKisses | (reply to Wicksy) posted 18-Aug-2000 9:08pm Yeah, I love him, sorry, lol |
| Maarten | posted 18-Aug-2000 10:07pm I'm in a long distance realationship right now (Amsterdam-Dublin), and it certainly doesn't work. We never see eachother! And the phone is no substitute! |
| mags | posted 20-Aug-2000 1:42am I hope the long distance relationship that I am in right now will work. The plan is to make it a non-long distance in the future, but for right now, it will just have to be enough to see each other when we can. |
| they | (reply to Maarten) posted 20-Aug-2000 11:21am Since I don't feel like looking it up |
| Maarten | (reply to they) posted 20-Aug-2000 4:17pm 400 miles.. but there are two seas between the cities, so you will have to fly, which makes it expensive. |
| Wicksy | (reply to SweetKisses) posted 21-Aug-2000 4:15am It's okay......it's good to see someone so young in love Aaaaaaaaaaaa!! |
| Enheduanna | (reply to mags) posted 21-Aug-2000 1:46pm Hey you! |

| Mandiecakes | posted 27-Aug-2000 4:14pm I have had a long distance relationship, but it did not work out. |
| barkalounger | posted 28-Aug-2000 6:52pm It worked for about 2 years. The correspondence slowly disapated. |
| mary | posted 30-Aug-2000 2:23pm I have never had a long distance relationship. |
| sallysue | posted 1-Sep-2000 9:42am We have not eliminated the distance yet...not completely. |
| wynkin | posted 1-Sep-2000 10:23am The temptation to stray was too much for him. And it is too easy to forget the excitement. |
| greendragon | posted 1-Sep-2000 1:25pm My long distance relationship was quite a few years ago, when I was a teenager, but it did not work at all. Maybe I was just too young though?! |
| sauble1 | posted 1-Sep-2000 1:53pm actually it worked for 12 months, saw him only once a month, then saw him every weekend for two months, and that was too much.... |
| MsBuDs1 | posted 8-Sep-2000 11:51am Way to much time involved |
| North79 | posted 13-Sep-2000 11:58am Worked for 2 years, then failed. |
| stevesgirl | posted 21-Sep-2000 9:15am I will have to get back to you on this one because i m currently involved in a long distance relationship of 2000 miles. We have been together about 2 1/2 months soooo we'll see what happens. I LOVE YOU SWEETIE!! xoxox |
| gdrago23 | posted 24-Sep-2000 1:13am Well, so far. It's been nearly a month, and I'm seeing her in three weeks. We'll be back together for a month in the winter and three next summer, so there's a horizon to look forward to... |
