| Flower | posted 8-Aug-2000 8:27pm I've been very lucky and haven't really ever gotten sick with the exception of the common cold or the stomach flu, but I do have tendonitis in my left wrist and it has recently started forming in my right wrist. |
| sequel | posted 8-Aug-2000 10:08pm An endocrinological disorder. Not fatal, but very inconvenient and uncomfortable, and has sucked up thousands of dollars of my money (before I had health insurance) and many hours of my time. |

| TwistedIvory | posted 9-Aug-2000 1:03am Clinical depression, without a doubt. |
| BlueberryMuffin | posted 9-Aug-2000 1:29am It depends what you mean by "worst". The worst as far as seriousness was probably the Rubella I had when I was two, but I don't remember it. I had appendicitis a few years back which is relatively serious but it wasn't terribly painful. If you mean worst as far as what I had to go through then it was probably this horrible strain of the flu I had about two years ago that killed off half of the local nursing home. I have Intermittent Prophyria which isn't dreadful because I've learned to live with it but its worst in that its an inconvenience I'll always have. |
| Maarten | posted 9-Aug-2000 4:12am Sinusitis just 4 weeks ago... very painful. |
| Wicksy | posted 9-Aug-2000 4:55am asthma that needed hospital treatment. I had to suffer for 3 days before I realised I had it. Terrible experience! |

| daver | posted 9-Aug-2000 9:51am Appendicitis was probably the illness that had the highest likelihood of resulting in my death. |
| Jemmy | posted 9-Aug-2000 10:04am Monosomething. No, wait. When I was born a had a small hole in my heart, and they had to operate...which is worse? |

| zoomie | posted 9-Aug-2000 11:30pm Hyperthyroidism. I weighed 95 pounds by the time it was treated, and I've never been so thin, so hungry all the time, so jittery, so emotional in my life. It's easy to treat, but a horror to live through. |
| Avocado | posted 10-Aug-2000 2:42am The worst illness that I have had is asthma, followed by PMS The worst illness that I have suffered because of is the illness that two of my close friends have - HIV/AIDS. I'd much rather experience my own asthma than the realization that they will very likely have long and painful deaths that I can't do a thing about except support them through it. And I cry a lot thinking about how I will likely lose them in a few years. I want them to be around forever. And these next few weeks I am staying away from them because another friend of mine has a contagious illness and I don't want to take even the slightest risk that I might transmit it to them if we hang out, because their immune systems aren't so good at fighting these things off as ours are. And I miss them so much... |
| Jody | posted 10-Aug-2000 8:47am I had food poisoning (salmonella) for 5 weeks, which became a systemic infection and spread to my legs. It was awful. |
| they | posted 10-Aug-2000 9:07pm Hmmm... I guess this doesn't count injuries.. so I'd have to say a severe recurring bladder/kidney infection throughout my entire childhood. |
