I was at a winter camp in northern Michigan. Its a place dear to my heart and the only place I wanted to be if people freaked out because of Y2K.

i had to spend part of the day at work, and then it was such a non-event that after midnight east coast time came and went without incident, they sent a bunch of us home so i went to a friend of mine's house and hung out.

I worked night shift until 07h00, went to bed, got up at 16h00, got dressed, went to friends to eat and drink, went to a party at about 22h30 and there I stayed until about 07h00 on January 1st.

I was getting ready to dj at a new year party. I was also on call as emergency backup at work, so I made a few calls to check that everything was OK and put my mind at rest.

I was pretending the world was going to end if we didn't figure out how to save it. We didn't and it did.

I woke up, and hung out with some friends for the day, had dinner with my family, and then watched TV at night mocking the pathetic celebration my dumb city put on.

I was sitting on the roof of a hotel in Sydney watching the fireworks.
Before that I was hanging around at a friends house, eating Thai food, shopping and doing all sorts of other things that I don't really remember.

Oy, this one I'd like to forget. As midnight neared on 12/31/99, I was at a sex party, being intimate with someone I'd never met prior to that night, to distract myself from a couple of unrequited love interests. It didn't help. I very rarely regret sex afterwards, but that time I did.

Not much...we were visiting my mom in Georgia. We spent part of the night visiting her neighbors. The husband was trying to kill a squirrel that was living in his roof. (Don't ask.) We then went back to the cabin we were staying in. We were asleep before midnight--it was very mellow as I was 5 months pregnant at the time.

at our church we have a youth group for kids ages 13-20...besides doing worship on Sundays separate from the adults we also get together to do stuff. Like go to camp for a week during the summer with all of us, go out to movies...things like that. We had a "lock-in" on new years which was like a sleep over with everybody there...your kept inside the church overnite with food, drinks, games, all sorts of recreational things...it actually wasn't all that bad.

(reply to mandy) posted 18-Aug-2000 5:07pm
nope...it's a church you know with bans against PDA (public displays of affection)...so nothing like that occured...even though I think that would have been fun if they were a little leniant toward letting us doing those things >:)

Sounds like a good thing for youths to do on the weekend...as opposed to drive bys and prostitution * laughing out loud *

yes...and unfortunately thats what a lot of teens get into...so at least they are doing something worthwhile rather then getting in trouble as most of the foolish ones tend to do.
