Would you take a pill that allowed you to eat more and yet not put on weight?

According to news reports, researchers have managed to isolate a substance which causes mice to be able to eat more than normal and yet be thinner than normal. It works by causing energy from food to be converted to heat instead of fat. They now believe that it should be possible to develop a treatment for humans using the same principle. It depends on the side effects. If there weren't any side effects that are bad, then yes, definatley.

I probably would, if the side effects weren't too extreme.

I wouldn't take it because I'm not overweight, but even if I was I'm not sure I'd take it anyway.

No, I wouldn't take it. I'm not presently overweight, but that isn't why. I don't trust pills, and I don't like taking them if I can avoid it. I can't imagine that it would be healthy to use this product.

Oh God! Wouldn't that be a great invention.

No, cause this diet pill was invented a while ago, I believe it was the 70's or early 80's at the time...It helped people lose weight so all these women rushed out to buy some. Turns out the pill was filled with TAPE WORM EGGS! Well no wonder it helps them lose weight!! I would never go for one of those drugs that promises anything! They discover stuff and everyone is in awww, and then 10 years down the road they say, uh oh...we sure fudgeed up this time, take'em off the shelves!!!

I might try it, it sounds a lot easier than dieting and exercise - which I've never really gotten the hang of.

If you had an abnormally low appetite, you would want to eat more. There's nothing wrong with that.

screw that. try to eat less! why make a freaking pill to encourage waste?

So it stands to conclusion that a person taking this pill would have a higher body temperature and would even cause a rise in ambient temperature? How odd!

I can't even fathom why anyone would want to. It didn't say anything about other "side effects" of eating too much, and let's face it, anyone who said they would, isn't going to gorging on salad. Too many doughnuts are bad for you, even if you didn't gain an ounce.

I happen to enjoy both. I may be the only man on earth that would have the gall to walk into the health food section of the grocery store with a box of donuts looking for the ginseng-root beer (don't laugh! it's good!).

Ya, if it worked. I hate only eating half of my fish and chips, actually the only reason I eat half is that my stomach wont hold any more.
