| truss | posted 24-May-1998 11:14pm Bass player. Being the front man just doesn't appeal, so that's not even an option. Keyboardist... would be neat, too, but I think I'd like to be able to move around a little during shows. And there'd be the least possible temptation (or expectation) to do self-serving solos. :) |
| Jaime | posted 25-May-1998 2:41am Bass, bass, bass!!! |
| jzp | posted 25-May-1998 10:20am frontman/volacist would be my bag |
| mute | posted 25-May-1998 12:20pm I would be keyboard player, since, well, I am. But it wouldn't be a "rock band," it would be a performance collaboration. Or something like that. And there might not be anyone but me, so technically I'd do everything via keyboards. Or maybe not. But definitely keyboards. |
| reality | posted 25-May-1998 12:37pm definately bass. nothing like strumming a fish.. seriously, I tend to like good rythm or beat, so bass seems best (or drum, but i'd prefer bass). |
| jjg | posted 25-May-1998 1:47pm Lead guitarist, you get almost as much attention as the lead singer but don't always have to be out front. |
| romkey | posted 25-May-1998 3:58pm the manager. otherwise, the drummer. |
| steve | posted 25-May-1998 7:03pm I love to drum. What I'd REALLY like to do is be the percussionist/backup drummer (like the Feelies had) so that someone else would have to do the boring work of keeping the rest of the band together and I could just make interesting rhythmic filigree over the top. |
| bill | posted 25-May-1998 11:24pm lead vocals, the guy running around in front of the band making a fool of himself - that's me! |
| kirst | posted 26-May-1998 2:35am I love to sing although in real life I sound horrendous. Being lead singer would be a blast! |
| lizzie | posted 26-May-1998 11:09am Probably a backup vocalist, and an instrument player at the same time. An integral part of the band, but not the front person. |
| Mark | posted 26-May-1998 11:20am I enjoy singing most, but that may be because I do it better than other musical instruments. More likely, I would sing, *and* play an instrument (guitar, bass, or keyboards would be most likely). |
| lisashea | posted 26-May-1998 12:10pm I love playing keyboards so that would be my main choice. I also love to sing, though, so I'd want to at least be a back-up singer while playing. Of course ideally I'd want to do some lead-vocals while playing. My boyfriend already plays bass in two bands so I'll use him in "my" band ;) |
| Pigeon | posted 26-May-1998 4:48pm I was the token girl for a while in a band while I was in High School and I played the bass but because of my total lack of musical ability I was booted... No hard feelings though because I knew they would turn down my amp at shows |
| joe | posted 26-May-1998 5:23pm all of the above |
| Resy | posted 26-May-1998 6:37pm no doubt, I'd be the vocalist ... that's what I do. |
| elijahblue | posted 26-May-1998 8:27pm I am a drummer at heart. *** Resy: what you currently do is not what I was after. What I do is play keyboards and sing, but if I possessed the required talent (and more noise-tolerant parents growing up), I would have liked to have been a drummer. *** Musician jokes: Q: How many guitarists does it take to change a light bulb? A: 13. One to change the light bulb and 12 to stand around saying how they could do it better. Q: How many bass players does it take to change a light bulb? A: It doesn't matter, no one notices anyway. Q: How many drummers does it take to change a light bulb? A: None. They have machines that do that now. |
| plots | posted 27-May-1998 9:25am I am not very musically inclined and if I was as talented as the other in a band it would sound horrible... |
| lelle | posted 27-May-1998 10:18am I'd probably be a backup singer. If I really did have the talent for it, I'd play bass, though. I always wanted to play a big upright bass. I guess I could be both backup singer and bass player. :) |
| prefect | posted 27-May-1998 11:26am I play bass and rhythm guitar, so I'd want to check both. |
| pandora | posted 9-Nov-1998 6:58pm the singer gets all the attention! |
| phi | posted 16-Nov-1998 12:44pm If I were equally talented at all of them, I'd want to do them all! |
| LindaH | posted 29-Jul-2008 6:26pm Keyboards |
