It was a really good movie, bu the moviegoing experience was ruined by the juvenile butt-holes with the laser pointers.

It was melodramatic and, except for the stormy bits, dull.

I'll pretend you didn't say that.

Most of the characters in the movie who weren't in the storm existed solely for the purpose of making you feel worse about the people who were in the storm. The writing was cliched and grossly manipulative. The storm scenes were gripping and well done, and I appreciated the fact that Mark Wahlberg's character didn't show up at the end dripping seaweed. As movies go I think it was pretty lousy.

Again, I'll pretend you didn't say that! Geez, weren't you paying attention before?

It was ok. I pretty much knew the whole story. It's one of those movies that you come out of feeling sad. I don't always like to see those.

I didn't like the movie.
It really bothered me that they just made up what happened on the Andrea Gail - no one knows, so they just made up all these adventures.

It sucked monkeys butts!!! It was one of those dark movies I hate those. It had a bad story True or not it was dumb and the ending was even dumber. The only thing I think anyone could appriciate was special effects and those were kinda cheesy also.

You seem to hate everything about everything. I consider myself a cynic, but even I'm not as bad as you. You're bringin' me down man.

I do not hate everything about everything you probably think this because the things I don't like prompt me to comment, so you see negative comments. :) I am a serious movie critic I see all the new movies and this one was bad!

Well, I also am a serious movie crtiic (http://members.fortunecity.com/bdwebber/porch.html, click Enter, than click Movie Reviews), and I loved this film. It was a wonderful blend of special effects and a real story and good characters, A rare combination, since most special effects films depend on the effects to carry it, the way ID4 did. This was a wonderful movie, and Wolfgang Petersen is one of my favorite directors. In The Line Of Fire and Air Force One are two of my faves.

I think it was a flaky story with flimsy charachters. The effects were ok but they kept the movie so dark that it was like they had to do it in the dark to make it believable. To each his own I am glad you liked the movie but I was somewhat bored.

It was really stressful to watch. I'm glad I saw it, but I don't think I'll ever watch it again. Also, it was kinda cheesy in parts.

and the swordfish looked really fake and gross. I must agree with Bill about being bothered about the whole made up action on the ship.

I enjoyed it, although I can certainly see why some people would find it overly sappy. I thought it was better than most of the reviews I've seen of it, including the ones here on SC.
