| romkey | posted 3-Jul-2000 11:46am it really depends on the person. Since I hug lion more than I hug anyone else I'd say I turn my face towards his neck. |
| lion | (reply to romkey) posted 3-Jul-2000 11:57am oww my neck! |
| ILJ | posted 3-Jul-2000 4:26pm The explanation text blows dead donkeys, sorry. |
| Zang | posted 4-Jul-2000 4:50am I never thought of this until I saw it in qualification. I like the question. I think I usually turn my face towards their neck. The only time I don't is probably if I am just giving someone a friendly hug that I'm not that close to, like they initiated it and I sort of went along. |
| kirst | posted 4-Jul-2000 6:40am I really had to think about this. I think I turn my face away. |
| micah | (reply to ILJ) posted 4-Jul-2000 11:27am Could you explain why you even give a rat's ass? |
| mandy | posted 4-Jul-2000 6:30pm I hug my SO and child most frequently. I look straight forward and then turn in to nuzzle or smooch |
| Lauren | posted 4-Jul-2000 9:58pm It depends on who I am hugging. If I'm not really close to the person I keep my head away. There is a select few who I turn my head inwards for. |
| ILJ | (reply to micah) posted 4-Jul-2000 10:12pm Why I even give a rat's ass about the dead donkeys, or about the explanation text? I'm confused. |
| micah | (reply to ILJ) posted 5-Jul-2000 3:10pm The explanation text. |
| Avocado | posted 9-Jul-2000 6:05pm Towards their neck, assuming I'm fond of them and actually want to be hugging them. Straight over the shoulder if it's a more formal or polite hug, or if I'm hugging a relative who I don't really like hugging but would offend if I didn't do so upon greeting them. |
| drdt | posted 18-Jul-2000 5:13pm Most people I hug, it would be an intrusion to breathe on their neck. Either that or I don't want to give away non-platonic intent. |
| Maarten | posted 19-Jul-2000 1:13am Towards *her* neck. Not his. |
| pandora | posted 21-Jul-2000 10:55am casual greeting/leaving hugs=face away from the neck, real, meaningful love/comfort hugs=face towards the neck |
| they | posted 31-Jul-2000 12:32am The advanced stats are kind of interesting on this one. |
| Jemmy | posted 11-Aug-2000 12:43pm I never really thought about it. |
| natsim | (reply to Maarten) posted 11-Aug-2000 5:43pm You don't ever hug men? Not even your dad? (I'm asking this seriously) |
| Maarten | (reply to natsim) posted 11-Aug-2000 6:03pm No, I never hug my dad. We don't get along very well. I do hug male friends sometimes, but not very often. |
| they | (reply to natsim) posted 14-Aug-2000 2:15am I never hug my dad either.... I actually didn't start hugging either of my parents until I moved far away from them... but we have a great relationship.. |
| Andyroo | posted 19-Aug-2000 5:52pm I'm not sure... |
| natsim | (reply to Maarten) posted 21-Aug-2000 4:02pm and they: Now I think about it, I didn't really hug my parents until I moved away either. For some reason I'd forgotten that. So Maarten, is it towards *her* neck and away from *his* on those rare occasions? |
| Maarten | (reply to natsim) posted 23-Aug-2000 1:38pm I moved out 12 years ago, but still don't hug my father. We just shake hands. I don't hug my mother either, I give her 3 kisses on her cheeks. |
| natsim | (reply to Maarten) posted 23-Aug-2000 2:48pm Is that one on each side, and back again? |
| Maarten | (reply to natsim) posted 23-Aug-2000 4:41pm yep: right, left, right |
