| Flip23 | posted 29-Jun-2000 4:27pm Columbus is far and away the worst city in America. |
| they | posted 29-Jun-2000 8:03pm A little bit too easy. |
| they | (reply to Flip23) posted 29-Jun-2000 8:05pm Why do you say that? |

| dab | posted 30-Jun-2000 9:10am I went to a week of meetings in Columbus once and expected it to be pretty dreary. Turns out they have good beer, a nice museum of science and industry, and whirlyball. |
| bill | (reply to dab) posted 30-Jun-2000 10:04am what's a whirlyball? Doesn't Columbus have a airshow too? |
| bluebird1974 | (reply to bill) posted 30-Jun-2000 1:22pm I am not sure if Columbus has an airshow but Dayton has one @ Wright Patterson AFB |
| dab | (reply to bill) posted 1-Jul-2000 10:10am Whirlyball is played with a little, plastic ball about the size of a softball and those plastic scoops to throw it. There are two goals that are sort of like basketball backboards with a hole in them you throw the ball through instead of a hoop and basket. The court is roughly basketball sized too and you drive around in bumper cars. |
| Flip23 | (reply to they) posted 5-Jul-2000 12:31pm Columbus combines urban blight with Ohio State. That's the best recipe for crap I've ever heard of. |
| beautiful | (reply to Flip23) posted 14-Jul-2000 4:32pm You are not a pleasant person are you? |
| Flip23 | (reply to beautiful) posted 17-Jul-2000 10:56am No, I'm not. I should however add that I truly believe Columbus is a crummy town. It's not as dirty as Philly, as humid as Houston, or as decrepit as Detroit - but it just seems bland. I've lived in all of the above cities. That being said, I did my undergrad at Michigan and, as such, am unable to offer Columbus the benefit of any doubt. |

| drdt | posted 20-Jul-2000 1:05pm Flip: You should try Troy, New York for size. I understand there is stuff to do in parts of Columbus. |
| Flip23 | (reply to drdt) posted 20-Jul-2000 1:41pm Granted, Columbus is a state capital and major college town - so something is always happening there. Maybe I'll head back east on a depressing cities tour and hit Troy as a stop. |
