Do you clearly recall a time in your childhood where you did not know:

I don't remember very much about my childhood. I do remember a time when I could only tie my shoe by making two loops and tying them in a knot.

i can remember a time when i didn't know how to do any of these things, and didn't know that i would someday be expected to know them (18 months old: i don't remember a lot about this period of time, mostly one particular incident. does that count?).

I don't recall. The only similar anecdote I can recall is the first year that I knew. 1973 (I was 5 or 6). I remember groking that 1973 was the year, and what a year was and such. *** pomeranian: it's gone!

None of these, really, but I clicked "how to dress yourself" because I do remember struggling mightily with knots--my shoes, and later neckties. I'm pitiful with spatial relations, was even worse then, and thus have always had a horrible time with knots.

I remember learning to count change in nursery school, I can picture all these giant fake coins laid out on the floor...

No, but it's probably a combination of having learned all of these relatively early and poor recollection of my early childhood.

All of these predate my earliest memories (age 4, and a little at age 3).

I know I learned them all, but I can't remember not being able to do any of these things. Of course the amount of time that I have been able to do these things for over 20 years; so it isn't difficult to realize why I don't remember.

I couldn't count change 'till grade 4. I'm not stupid, my teachers were just idiots that didn't think we needed to learn it.

This is, to me, a heavy survey. I was traumatized by my second grade teacher. I was not the only one. She would put up a "multiplication wheel" on the blackboard. It was a circle with the numbers 0 thru 12 around the circle like a clock. The multiplier (2 thru 12) was in the center. She would point to each outside number with a yardstick and you had better answer INSTANTLY or she would tear you a new a**hole. Many kids broke down in tears when they missed a number (myself included). I was finally vindicated when she gave me the 3 times wheel. To this day I hate math. Uh... what was the question?

I remember when my uncle taught me how to blow a bubble with gum. But I never learned how to whistle (still can't).

I used to be frightened that people would ask me to write my whole name and I'd be embarassed by not knowing how to spell my middle name, Elizabeth. I don't actually remember when I learned to spell it.

I don't remember that time.

I remember learning to read a clock. I don't have a specific memory relating to any of the others.

I can't remember that far back. Then again, I can hardly remember 2 days ago.

I was 3, it was pre-school, and I was the only kid in the class who couldn't spell my name. *sob* Its all coming back to me now.

I learned to read at a really early age (before 2, I think) but I remember being too young to understand change. Also, I was taught Ukrainian as well as English for a while and had trouble remembering which language to write in at school.

I cannot tell time now! So pathetic I know but I cannot do it! I wear a watch because I guess at the right time but when someone asks me what time it is I show them the watch and let them read it... I am a retard

I had so much trouble learning to tell time that I eventually got a digital watch. I still have a problem if the minute hand is equally between two numbers (I just freeze until the next whole minute gets here!!) and I used to do lots of - 10 minutes past 4:30. I also remember not being able to tie my shoes (no velcro then!!).

Well, I've a really bad memory. I only remember few things from my childhood, and are like dreams, not very clear...

The closest I can come is not spelling my own name.. I remember clearly that I used to draw my S's like Z's .. I also remember trying to learn my multiplication tables, but that's not an option here...

Yes I can remember all of these... It doesn't seem that long ago to me... : )

I don't have much conscious control over my memory, I will remember things if I don't have to think about it. If I have to think about things, I can sometimes penetrate the barriers, but most times end up with irrelevant information.

geez, I don't clearly recall a time in my childhood, period! I have some rudimentary memories of clocks being puzzling, though... or were those from this morning when i woke up?
