If someone deleted all the files on your computer, what would you do?

the important stuff is backed up. i would still miss the rest of it but it really isn't important to the same extent!

I back up the bulk of the files on my computer on a weekly basis. It would be a nuisance to have to rebuild the file system, but unless someone had added a lot of information since the last backup (did I mention that it's a multi-user system?) it wouldn't be much of a loss.

This is going to happen later today. One of my friends is coming by to help me wipe my hard drive and reload. We made sure everything was backed up on Saturday.

Miss them and get over it.

Hmm... depends on who deleted those files! If it was a friend who did it accidentally, then I'd say "that's ok" and mourn privately--then look at it as a form of computer spring cleaning. Now if my Napster files were deleted (they are safely tucked on another drive) that would be a different story! >

Use one of the tools to get back my important files. I have only a few files that I don't always have backed up or available off of CD.

I would find a way to harrass that person to the fullest extent but in accordance with the law
