| lizzie | posted 15-May-1998 12:29pm I picked the Chicago bit, but I really am not sure that's the right one for me. |
| lelle | posted 15-May-1998 12:57pm It would depend on song and budget and everything else... I really don't know. |
| Atzilut | posted 15-May-1998 1:08pm I'd shoot myself. |
| truss | posted 15-May-1998 1:23pm ...extremely confused, because I have no musical talent whatsoever. :) But given a sudden influx of that, probably the Mars one. Though the zen garden idea is cool. :) |
| elijahblue | posted 15-May-1998 2:13pm It would depend on what would work best with the particular song I was singing. I'm guessing that each of the responses represents an actual video, but I can't place most of them. I thought the Zen garden idea sounded really cool, so I checked that one. |
| milktree | posted 15-May-1998 2:23pm Wow! What an odd survey! I have absolutely no idea what you're asking. |
| lisashea | posted 15-May-1998 2:23pm I like the zen garden one myself, although the songs I record tend to be more "rocking blues" style. I'd have to write a quiet song especially for the scene. Wait, "River, River" from Peter Gabriel! *** Actually most of these are from my own demented mind. They were inspired by: 1) Robert Palmer, 2) Wachusett Mt, 3) real life story, 4) Amadeus, 5) Orlando dinner show, 6) Gollum, 7) NASA, 8) Little Mermaid, 9) Pink Floyd, 10) Grue, 11) Horror movies, 12) 2001, 13) my own Japanese studies. |

| jjg | posted 15-May-1998 2:52pm Dreadfully embarassed I suppose. |
| Dolemite | posted 15-May-1998 2:58pm Ooookaaay... I like Soundgarden's videos. |
| lara | posted 15-May-1998 3:56pm i'd be one of those singers who refuse to appear in videos except as a cartoon character. |
| jonas | posted 15-May-1998 4:00pm Off camera. I can stand still photos (but only since working at Kodak). Video cameras make me run for cover. |
| Resy | posted 15-May-1998 4:05pm would really depend on the song ... my best public performance was in a shopping mall! next was in the symphony hall ... I'd marked the outdoors one because that appealed to me ...and with a video you could get the right acoustics. |

| jzp | posted 16-May-1998 4:04pm awash in static to make the vidiots think there'd something wrong with the boob tube. or I'd be in another band, having quit when they went behind my back and signed up to do a video. fudge mtv. |
| jer | posted 17-May-1998 8:13am the Timid Forest Creature must return to the forest, though if I could bring a couple of those 18th Century women... :) |

| mute | posted 21-May-1998 4:35pm I need lots of them, 'cause my music roams around a lot. My goal for a while has been to write music that makes people who listen to it sway like underwater plants. I've done this a bit, so the more tranquil images, above, would count. You could do the Koyaanisqaatsi thing, too, though, and have hyper-accelerated cityscapes and things backed with very tranquil throbbing music, except that it's been done to death. So, I don't know. Something liek that, anyway. How about lying down in a zen garden having ripples raked around me? That sounds pleasant... |
| bill | posted 22-May-1998 12:14am I wish I could pick more than one! *** Ha! lisashea actually confused milktree, the tables are turned (milktree the confusing one has been bested by lisashea!) Why is the approval rating for this survey so low, I liked it! |
| Artemis | posted 29-May-1998 12:23am The grand canyon thing sounds cool. |
| reality | posted 14-Jul-1998 10:22am I have no idea what music i'd be performing. (it would depend on the music) My musical tastes are greatly varied (little to no rap, and very little country). If I just had to have a background, it'd be clouds, heavy grey and raining (with thunder and lightning). it'd be beneath/around me, above would be a midnight blue and maybe a planet or a few small moons with stars glimpsed through the clouds. I'd be backed up by the standard trio(no particular style of garb comes to mind for me or them). **I just re-read my comment and realized part of it made no sense... the bit about my tastes being varied.. I like most everything, except rap, and a lot fo country. |
| gilly | posted 14-Aug-1998 11:11am What about flirted with by 18th century men and leather-clad biker women? I have a new ambition! |
