| Avocado | posted 29-May-2000 2:56am Actually, I do. It's gotten better. And the vegetarian options, when they remember that you've pre-ordered them (somehow I never get them unless I call again to remind them about it within 24h of the flight) tend to be quite yummy. |
| pcpr | posted 29-May-2000 2:58am Depends a lot on the particular airline, but usually yes. |
| Zang | posted 29-May-2000 3:04am Rarely |
| SueBee | posted 29-May-2000 4:02am Yes, actually I usually like it just fine. Probably because it gives me something to do to make the flight go by faster. |
| picklesmom | posted 29-May-2000 9:31am Never had any. |
| Enheduanna | posted 29-May-2000 10:09am Not usually. Especially when they screw up and forget my veggie meal. The funniest veggie meal I had was on a Brazilian airline, TAM. They remembered my meal, but their version of a veggie entree was two trays of the corn and lettuce side-dish. American has tended recently to serve a beans-and-rice dish that isn't too bad. |
| Strider | posted 29-May-2000 1:47pm i don't really care. |
| mandy | posted 29-May-2000 4:48pm any airline food I have ever had was atrocious..... |
| jjg | posted 29-May-2000 5:06pm I've never been on a plane, so I wouldn't really know. |
| bill | posted 29-May-2000 10:59pm recent experience excluded (some first-class flights where the food was very good), generally no - I often find that I'm happier just not eating while on a plane. |
| bill | posted 29-May-2000 11:00pm jeez - there have been a lot of miscellaneous surveys made - it seems like a lot of people just don't bother setting that category field. |
| Richard | (reply to bill) posted 29-May-2000 11:47pm I made a non-miscellaneous survey the other day. How do you do that grumpy face? |
| bill | (reply to Richard) posted 30-May-2000 8:06am This survey could have been categorized under "food"... : |
| cpierson | posted 30-May-2000 10:03am Generally no, of course not. But Midwest Express's food is good. |
| Enheduanna | posted 30-May-2000 10:04am OK, that's true--first class has yummy food. So does the Concord. I tried to get them to get me some food from business or first class on one flight (I was in coach) where they messed up my vegetarian meal, but all they were able to procure was a salad (admittedly yummy, though) from business class. |
| jonathan | posted 30-May-2000 12:13pm Veggie and kosher meals tend to be pretty good so I'll often order those. The food in business & first class can be better, when you actually get fed a meal instead of a drink & a bag of pretzels - in the US, it seems like that's all you get on any flight less than three hours in length. |
| natsim | posted 30-May-2000 3:58pm It depends on the airline. All Australian airlines have really good food. Vegetarian meals are almost always terrible on any airline. |
| Pollerbear | posted 1-Jun-2000 12:30am Not particularly...but the liquor is good! |
| nihon | posted 1-Jun-2000 1:44am I like it sometimes. They do occasionally have some decent fare, but overall it's only average. Better than most hospital food, though. |
| they | (reply to nihon) posted 1-Jun-2000 9:04am Maybe I was just really hungry, or maybe the hospital I was in just had really good cooks.. but I really liked my hospital food. |
| Andyroo | posted 1-Jun-2000 11:20am Never had it. |
| nihon | (reply to they) posted 2-Jun-2000 1:39am The hospital I was born in served lobster. ^_^ My mom enjoyed it. However, most hospital food I've had is rather bland. |
| cydonia | posted 2-Jun-2000 9:40am The food's a lot better than the comfort of coach seating, and I'm just a little thing. I'd hate to think how those bigger than me can stand it. |
| Matt | posted 3-Jun-2000 12:17pm Coach seats have really improved! You have a lot more space nowadays, r at least in the flights I've recently had. More leg room and the benches are more comfy too. You can even arange the headrest now!!! you can bend the sides so you can use it as a kind of pillow! |
| SueBee | posted 4-Jun-2000 2:26pm Nothing could be worse than the military flight I took from Philadelphia to Germany. I was crammed in the seat between two brawny guys with wide shoulders for about 8 hours. Sardine city! And I was actually pretty small back then. |
| mandy | (reply to SueBee) posted 5-Jun-2000 8:12pm Were they cute? |
| SueBee | (reply to mandy) posted 5-Jun-2000 11:27pm Would you believe I didn't notice? |
| mandy | (reply to SueBee) posted 6-Jun-2000 1:18am HEATHEN! |
| SueBee | (reply to mandy) posted 9-Jun-2000 5:30pm Would you quit calling me that?! |
| eloradanan | posted 6-Jun-2006 12:57am I don't know. I've never flown. |
