I like that term: fixer-upper. Good starting base, but needs some updating. I said 5. I don't see myself as very impressive, but I couldn't bring myself to pick a lower score.

Well this is kind of odd... :) I know I have less body-image problems than a lot of the women I know... I would have to say I'm reasonably average-looking, though.

This is pretty difficult to do objectively. However, I always look for character in other people, and I definitely have A LOT of character!!!

Of course, using my own concept of beauty...

physical appearance shouldn't mean as much as it does. Attitude carries a lot of weight too. I'd prefer to be with an ugly person with a good attitude than a pretty person with a poor attitude. (if it matters I rated myself as average, I've been told I'd be good looking if I lost weight.. and I am not sure if the beard plays a role in that or not..)

Ah hates this question. (No, I answered rather high, I like my appearance. I'm just bothered being asked about it.)

I am able to see all of my faults, and wish I was in better shape, etc., but my various boyfriends and female friends have said I was cute/pretty so I give them some credibility. (I chose 7) It almost seems egotistical in our society to say "I'm pretty" - but what if you put a lot of work into staying active, keeping in shape, and that is what people appreciate? Most of my boyfriends have been mountain bikers / skiiers / etc. and they first went after me because I was "attractive" in the sense that I obviously looked like I did these things too. My dress and my hair reflect that - I wear hiking boots so I can hike on a trip, I wear mid-back hair so it's long but won't choke me on a ski trip. I also think every person *can* be attractive, a lot of it has to do with personality. I know many "not handsome" men who I am extremely attracted to because of their courage and inner strength.

*** I just read in a previous survey that "saying someone else thinks you're pretty is still egotistical". It depends on your intention, I suppose - I was saying that *I* don't consider myself pretty but if others do, and if appearance is judged by consensus, then to be honest I have to use their rating. If (insert model name here) thought she was ugly, it would not change that in general, *people* thought she was beautiful and therefore she would be "categorized" as beautiful. Beauty being in the eye of the beholder and all of that. It also depends on environment - my very pretty friend thought she was pretty when she lived in Bethany, CT. Once she moved to New York she thought she was below average. "People" in Bethany and "People" in New York reinforced these views.

I find the distribution amusing. Two out of 46 below average and the vast majority significantly above average. I don't think so...

It's claimed I was 25 the whole time I've been here... *** yeah. It's not a big deal, I was just saying I had noticed it...

I'm a hunk.

I am always told how cute I am but at 26 I DON'T WANT TO BE CUTE ANY MORE. I rated myself really low because I have gained close to 60 pounds since high school and feel like a cow. I am in the process of losing the weight, but still I can't rate myself very high. Maybe with personality and my old body I could be a ten, but not drop dead gorgeous. I hate being cute.
