Do you write a personal diary?

Yes, but I only write in it when I have something on my mind.

I find it too time consuming to do work oriented journals, without having to do a personal one.

I did for about six months in grade school. My mother cured me of that habit right quick.

When I was young my sister and some of her friends kept them. I didn't and my friends didn't. Considered it more of a girly thing. Now I know both sexes keep them but I have never developed an interest.

I used to. I wrote every day a few pages and it lasted some years. I quit 2 years ago, and I only do it again when I feel it can help me, from time to time...

Nope, I feel cheesy doing it, and I am afraid that some one will see what I've written.

I do it because I feel confession is a must, rather it be at church or telling a friend, or writing in a diary.

one cant go long without confessing, or the mentality and morals become messed up

don't need to write a diary/log, I know how I feel, what I've done, and what I'm going to do. I don't need no dumb book to write it in.

I have very vivid dreams, and I like to record them. Also, when I'm working out some issue I write about it in my journal.

However, I write near-daily email letters recording significant thoughts and experiences to a friend of mine, and it serves rather the same function.

I haven't ever done it very regularly. It's something I've often started at the beginning of a new year, but it fizzles out after a couple weeks or so. I guess I get bored with it.

I never kept much of a personal journal but I used to include personal information in my daily activities summary that I kept for work. It's sometimes interesting to go back and look at it (I recently needed to determine when I purchased my previous automobile, for example).
