I went in for biology, but once I saw how many years you had to go to school before you could actually *write* experiments I switched to Computer Science. My first six years of work were for biotechs so it worked out perfectly!

political science, with a concentration in Latin American Politics and a definite leaning toward comparative politics (as opposed to American, International or Theoretical)

Psychology. Dolemite: there was a similar one, asking whether we were happy with what our major had been in college.

I finished with a degree in US History. I was a Business Admin major for three and a half years. During my second semester as a Senior I choose to change my major to History. It wasn't a very rational choice, but it was the one I made.

I received a BS in computer science and economics major. I went the CS way, as I am a Software Quality Assurance Engineer now. I was very close to going into Investment Banking when I graduated from college. I'm hoping to return in a few years to get my MBA.

I took a special, limited-enrolment liberal arts major -- so I'm sort of a Bachelor of All Trades (but Master of none -- sorry). My primary focus, foolishly, was comp sci.

Computer Science. (By 3/4 of the way through my Freshman year, I had figured out that Electrical Engineering wasn't what I had thought it was. So, on a whim, and because friends were also taking it, I took a CS course during the fourth quarter. I fell behind early, never caught back up, and wound up punting the course, skipping many lectures and the final. A few weeks thereafter I decided to change my major to CS and selected that class' professor as my academic advisor. I graduated with a CS degree 3 years later. True story! Lizzie can confirm it, she was in that class. :)

Math. I was one (easy) course short of a CS degree but went for math for two reasons:
  1. The math department at my college is better (or at least better-known) than the CS department, making the math degree more prestigious
  2. The missing course met at 8:30 AM
While I never formally changed majors from math, I did spend a semester as if I were a linguistics major and another as if I were a History of Science major.
