| Mark | posted 7-May-1998 11:01am Except for the fact that I am always overcommitted, I typically buget my time reasonably well. |
| lisashea | posted 7-May-1998 11:05am I've had lots of practice with time management and finally am at the point where I have tons of fun hobbies and fit them all in |
| hunter | posted 7-May-1998 11:32am I get done the things I need to get done and still have time for fun stuff, but I'd like to be accomplishing more with my fairly copious free time. There are things I'd like to learn and work on that I just never get to, for no good reason. |
| romkey | posted 7-May-1998 12:52pm I've gotten a lot better with it as I've gotten older. Also, I've learned not to schedule things too closely together, in case I blow my time estimates. |
| Dolemite | posted 7-May-1998 2:24pm I budget when necessary. Otherwise I could care less. |
| lizzie | posted 7-May-1998 2:42pm am I the only person who wishes they had more time that they could manage themselves, rather than assigning time block A to work and time block B to sleep and time block C to household chores and time block D to errands, leaving 10 seconds to plan anything else? |
| jjg | posted 7-May-1998 2:44pm At home my spare time is perfectly dolled out. Cleaning the house on Saturday morning, grocery shopping Saturday night. Laundry and misc. errands on Tuesdays. At work I only have about two hours of actual work to do, so I have a good six hours of the day to do this sort of thing. |
| steve | posted 7-May-1998 2:57pm ...but I won't. |
| Twanger | posted 7-May-1998 4:07pm I put "No, and I don't care to change it", but when you think about it, that answer is contained in "Yes, I budget it appropriately all the time" because if you don't care to change it, it must be appropriate for you. I put the No one because I would suspect that most people would say I don't do it "appropriately." but who are they to say that? Oh well, I had to pick one. |
| Lorax | posted 7-May-1998 10:15pm I think I budget my time well. I'd like to budget it better but I wonder if what I really need is more time. |
| Jaime | posted 8-May-1998 12:35pm Never! |
| bex | posted 8-May-1998 1:37pm Spend too much time on the Net, but other than that I'm ok. |
| elijahblue | posted 8-May-1998 3:46pm mmm, many people wouldn't think so. But I usually get the stuff I truly want to do done. A lot of times when I procrastinate or "mismanage" my time on the small stuff, I eventually decide it wasn't that important in the first place, or I was being too perfectionistic in my definition of when something is completed. |
| reality | posted 8-May-1998 7:24pm budget time? people break it up into these arbitrary bits. I usually try to make it by the designated 'time', but I don't plan things. if it is important, people will remind me.. |
| Gamera | posted 8-May-1998 11:06pm I think that, in general, my values and my behaviors are in step together. If I spend a lot of time doing something, then it's something I value. If I don't value it, I don't spend much time on it. If something external tries to force my time in a way that I'm uncomfortable with I try to change that factor. |
| jzp | posted 9-May-1998 8:30am i'm bad with time manglement. |
| bill | posted 9-May-1998 8:55am Yes, but I never feel like I do. The reality is that I'm doing fine, but I generally feel like I should be doing more. The same force in my that has driven me to create and do great things is also the force that never allows me to appreciate what I've done. |
| jer | posted 10-May-1998 8:16am ummm...errr... Red M&Ms! |
| mute | posted 10-May-1998 9:44am I spent all day sitting around in my underwear playing QuakeWorld. And I LIKED IT! I find that an appropriate use of my time, don't you? I mean, doing the dishes and stuff is nice and all, but not really necessary. |
| Timmi | posted 11-May-1998 12:33am Join the Cult of Franklin-Covey! |
| jonas | posted 12-May-1998 2:44pm I spend my life scrambling for free time, and then squander it all. I really like the squandering part though, so I guess I have no plans to change it. Squander, now thats a funny word. Try saying it 4 or 5 times. squander, squander |
| lobster | posted 13-May-1998 12:10am I never seem to have enough time. I know I waste a lot of time. I also need to find more efficient ways to do many of my tasks. I think I try to do too much. I have so many varied interests. |
| kirst | posted 13-May-1998 12:48am I procrastinate (like I'm doing now). I'm a deadline person, so I work down to the wire. Obviously this increases my stress level. I've made some changes, but... As my husband always tells me when I'm tired, "You can sleep when you're dead." (The eternal dirt nap awaits...) |
| lelle | posted 13-May-1998 12:56am Sometimes. :) |
| quark | posted 13-May-1998 2:53pm Yes, often and I'd like to stop please. I dream of an unschedualed life. |
| Resy | posted 13-May-1998 7:28pm yuck ... i don't like the word budget ... |
| LindaH | posted 29-Jul-2008 7:22pm No way! |
