I used to carry around $200 Canadian all the time, just to avoid having to hit the bank machine so often. Then a friend pointed out that the more money you carry, the more you are likely to spend. Now I keep it down to $40-$60. In my job I have to make bank deposits where I carry thousands of dollars through the seediest part of town, but it isn't my money so I don't care. | | magbast | | posted 24-Apr-2000 10:47am |

Up to $200, but I usually only cary $40 in cash and use the debit card and checks for everything else. | | magbast | | posted 24-Apr-2000 12:29pm |
yeah, what mary said | | drdt | | posted 24-Apr-2000 5:23pm |
$276 is the actual point where I start to get wiggy, but I don't usually have more than $125. I don't believe in debit cards and I don't use checks except when sending money via post (most places don't accept checks without a hassle).
Most of my transactions are via credit card, so I find $120 will last me about three weeks. | | mandy | | posted 24-Apr-2000 8:32pm |
I think $500 would be my limit. I can hardly stand to have cash on hand. It bugs me. | romkey | | posted 24-Apr-2000 9:04pm |
doesn't matter much to me. I don't wave it around so no one's likely to know if I'm carrying a lot. If they don't think I am then I'm probably not a worthwhile target. No one's tried to mug me yet. | | joachim | | posted 26-Apr-2000 11:55am |
I got mugged once. I had $12 on me (I'd just walked out of the grocery store - of course I had no money!). I had to stop by a bank machine on my way home to pay the pizza guy. | bill | | posted 27-Apr-2000 10:26pm |
