| SueBee | posted 23-Apr-2000 1:17am I enjoy caring for houseplants, but mandy is really the boss of the ones we have now. |
| mandy | posted 23-Apr-2000 3:05am I'm the boss of everything... |
| Frostbrand | posted 23-Apr-2000 3:07am Cacti. Low maintenance. |
| daver | posted 23-Apr-2000 8:54am The plants in my house that I care for will only be houseplants for another week. My roommate cares for the other houseplants. |
| picklesmom | posted 23-Apr-2000 9:27am All of my houseplants are from funerals...grandmother, father, grandfather,father-in-law. |
| they | posted 23-Apr-2000 11:04am When we move, I'm going to get some.. |
| they | posted 23-Apr-2000 11:05am daver: Is it harvest time? |
| jettles | posted 23-Apr-2000 11:48am love houseplants and gardening |
| daver | posted 23-Apr-2000 12:12pm **they: No such luck, although they are a loosely related species. They're hop plants that will be going outside in a week. |
| Avocado | posted 23-Apr-2000 1:05pm I have many officeplants and a few houseplants. When I moved from the lush northeast to the dry southwest, plants suddenly felt like a necessity. |
| Enheduanna | posted 23-Apr-2000 1:36pm I have tons of houseplants; I must have 20 or 30 of them. I love having them, although watering them all can get tiresome sometimes. I can't wait until it's warm enough for me to move a bunch of them onto the porch and just be able to douse them with the hose. |
| Jeanne | posted 23-Apr-2000 5:53pm I, presently, do not have a houseplant (a live one). Unfortunately, I do not have a green thumb. My parents could grow plants out of a rock (they came from a family of farmers in the midwest)but unfortunately I did not inherit this skill. They had inside and outside plants. I love plants. My husband plants his garden of vegetables each year, my granddaughter plants flowers outside every year, but no inside live plants. It is a shame, because plants do help clean the air in a home. I admire those people who can grow things. |
| jzp | posted 23-Apr-2000 8:27pm houseplant houseplant houseplant houseplant does that means the 'houseplants' in my office are really officeplants? now THAT looks funny... like it should be officepants. pants are funny, especially baggy, clowish pants, though the tough-acting hip-hop kids hate it when you break out laughing at their clownpants. i think i need more coffee. |
| tcb | posted 24-Apr-2000 12:39am I like houseplants, but I *suck* at taking care of them.. Hmm, anyone want a job as a house servant? :) |
| Zang | posted 24-Apr-2000 3:00am I kill house plants. I prefer dried flower arrangements. |
| joachim | posted 24-Apr-2000 9:38am Houseplant does look funny but it's not as bad as some of these old germanic words like Height. |
| cpierson | posted 24-Apr-2000 9:42am I have one, through no fault of my own. My former roommate left it behind when he moved out, and it has stubbornly refused to acknowledge my negligence and die. |
| mary | posted 24-Apr-2000 1:56pm YES! I have such happy plants that they are growing into the other half of my living room too. I have a green thumb. |
| jonathan | posted 24-Apr-2000 4:10pm Anybody want some baby spiderplants? |
| anonymous | posted 24-Apr-2000 5:17pm Jeanne: does God allow green thumbs, or is it unnatural to spend time with plants? Maybe it's unnatural to be with plants of the same gender! |
| Jeanne | posted 24-Apr-2000 5:50pm Anonymous#1: All kidding aside, God works miracles. |
| drdt | posted 24-Apr-2000 7:19pm jonathan: if there were a God, s/he would strike you down for that. |
| Maarten | posted 24-Apr-2000 7:21pm Not one. Stupid green things. They should know their place and stay outside. |
| mary | posted 25-Apr-2000 11:20am vos: lol "stupid green things" lol |
| BlueberryMuffin | posted 26-Apr-2000 2:04am I own three indoor houseplants but one of them, the one I've had since I was 15, is currently being held hostage. |
| LouLou | posted 26-Apr-2000 1:50pm I enjoy house plants. I'm not sure how you are to enjoy them but I care for them and never let them come close to frying. I have quite a few. |
| mary | posted 27-Apr-2000 1:16pm Blue: Held hostage?? |
| BlueberryMuffin | posted 27-Apr-2000 7:55pm mary: Yes. When we moved here we left everything we had behind and drove down with just a couple suitcases full of clothes and a box full of food until we found an apartment to put our stuff in. I left my plants with my mother-in-law and she only sent two of them with our stuff. She claimed she wanted to re-pot it first but I think she just wanted to keep it for herself. *sigh* |
| regis | posted 29-Apr-2000 12:26pm i've got some plants out on my front porch and back deck. do those count? i frequently forget to water plants that are indoors, so i don't keep indoor plants anymore, unless i'm just tending them before putting them outside. |
| regis | posted 29-Apr-2000 12:28pm when i read the word "houseplant" too often, not only does it look strange, it makes me think of the gor parody "houseplants of gor" http://www.apocalypse.org/pub/u/regis/houseplants.of.gor.txt (i didn't write it) |
| sybersnoops | posted 2-May-2000 10:37pm I had them till one afternoon I heard a loud screaming. When I realized it was my plants screaming for water I knew it was time to find a good home for them. |
| leemanette | posted 4-May-2000 4:38pm I used to have houseplants, but my cats kept eating them, so I gave up. |
| liquidliqhtninq | posted 6-May-2000 9:44pm I have something else to say about houseplants, they are very very mean to me because they are jealous that I like to go out on dates with my ends of bread :) |
