The plants in my house that I care for will only be houseplants for another week. My roommate cares for the other houseplants.

**they: No such luck, although they are a loosely related species. They're hop plants that will be going outside in a week.

I have many officeplants and a few houseplants. When I moved from the lush northeast to the dry southwest, plants suddenly felt like a necessity.

I have tons of houseplants; I must have 20 or 30 of them. I love having them, although watering them all can get tiresome sometimes. I can't wait until it's warm enough for me to move a bunch of them onto the porch and just be able to douse them with the hose.

I, presently, do not have a houseplant (a live one). Unfortunately, I do not have a green thumb. My parents could grow plants out of a rock (they came from a family of farmers in the midwest)but unfortunately I did not inherit this skill. They had inside and outside plants. I love plants. My husband plants his garden of vegetables each year, my granddaughter plants flowers outside every year, but no inside live plants. It is a shame, because plants do help clean the air in a home. I admire those people who can grow things.

houseplant houseplant houseplant houseplant

does that means the 'houseplants' in my office are really officeplants? now THAT looks funny... like it should be officepants. pants are funny, especially baggy, clowish pants, though the tough-acting hip-hop kids hate it when you break out laughing at their clownpants.

i think i need more coffee.

Houseplant does look funny but it's not as bad as some of these old germanic words like Height.

I have one, through no fault of my own. My former roommate left it behind when he moved out, and it has stubbornly refused to acknowledge my negligence and die.

Jeanne: does God allow green thumbs, or is it unnatural to spend time with plants? Maybe it's unnatural to be with plants of the same gender!

I own three indoor houseplants but one of them, the one I've had since I was 15, is currently being held hostage.

I enjoy house plants. I'm not sure how you are to enjoy them but I care for them and never let them come close to frying. I have quite a few.

mary: Yes. When we moved here we left everything we had behind and drove down with just a couple suitcases full of clothes and a box full of food until we found an apartment to put our stuff in. I left my plants with my mother-in-law and she only sent two of them with our stuff. She claimed she wanted to re-pot it first but I think she just wanted to keep it for herself. *sigh*

i've got some plants out on my front porch and back deck. do those count? i frequently forget to water plants that are indoors, so i don't keep indoor plants anymore, unless i'm just tending them before putting them outside.

when i read the word "houseplant" too often, not only does it look strange, it makes me think of the gor parody "houseplants of gor" http://www.apocalypse.org/pub/u/regis/houseplants.of.gor.txt (i didn't write it)

I had them till one afternoon I heard a loud screaming. When I realized it was my plants screaming for water I knew it was time to find a good home for them.
