| Frostbrand | posted 20-Apr-2000 12:26am I'd love to get into radio. Much as I hate Stern, I'd say yes. |
| micah | posted 20-Apr-2000 6:54am Believe it or not, Micah almost never talks. Wouldn't be much for radio. |
| they | posted 20-Apr-2000 9:31am No.. I'd refer magbast. |
| cpierson | posted 20-Apr-2000 9:52am Yes. I would take his job, dismiss his lackeys, and rededicate his morning show to things like music and news, with a minimum of talk. I would also poke him in the eye. |
| mary | posted 20-Apr-2000 11:58am No, that is not something I would be good at. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 20-Apr-2000 1:17pm In a snap. I've lectured as a call in listener to an audience of millions during LA's lunch commute on the source of consciousness & creation for about 20 minutes, (KNBC i think it was). On another popular LA station, Star 98.7, however my words were edited and I was made to sound as if I were promoting violence to car alarm's. Never authorize them to edit you. |
| Maarten | posted 20-Apr-2000 1:24pm For the same money he earns? YES!! |
| ILJ | posted 20-Apr-2000 2:19pm If the pay was the same and I could get at least a three-year contract out of it, sure. |
| drdt | posted 20-Apr-2000 6:44pm He is also the most hated radio personality in the U.S. With him gone, his show would die the slow painful death it deserves. |
| phi | posted 20-Apr-2000 7:01pm KR: what's wrong with violence to car alarms? I assume you mean the loud obnoxious ones that don't do any good rather than Lojack or other silent alarms (or my personal favorite car security system, the Blinking Red Dashboard Light). |
| mandy | posted 20-Apr-2000 7:52pm No...I'm too shy. |
| Maarten | posted 20-Apr-2000 7:54pm LOL yeah, right!!! |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 21-Apr-2000 12:35am I didn't know silent one's existed, that's what I was recommending; systems that called your pager. Ones that made loud sounds of bee's buzzing, volcano eruptions, etc. would at least not be as irritating. I like the flashing LED. A couple of my cars just had toggle switches for ignition. None of my neighbors seem to do anything about the alarm's going off. I don't know that anyone would suspect much if someone pretended to be breaking into their own car. |
| Strider | posted 21-Apr-2000 12:55am But I don't Think he would do it. Because how can you replace the "King of all Media." |
| robin | posted 22-Apr-2000 11:04pm I would take the money (his salary) and use the time on the radio as I liked. All the ads would be for non-profit organizations, and I would just give the air time to my friends from college who were into doing radio shows. |
| Avocado | posted 23-Apr-2000 7:42pm Yes, so that nobody like him could take his place, and then we could do away with his program. I'd replace it with something lots less offensive. |
| ILJ | posted 24-Apr-2000 8:55am I'd rather listen to Stern's harmless fun over Limbaugh's bile any day. People who get bent out of shape over Stern seriously need to be disimpacted (ask a nurse what it means). |
| magbast | posted 24-Apr-2000 10:45am hear hear!!!! |
| drdt | posted 24-Apr-2000 5:41pm Strider: with a can of creamed corn. ILJ: Limbaugh presents bad ideas in a bad way, making himself, and his ideas, the butt of jokes. Stern presents good ideas in a bad way, making himself, and his ideas, the butt of jokes. I find myself disagreeing with Stern because he is an idiot, not because his ideas are wrong. |
| Zang | posted 24-Apr-2000 9:20pm I don't think I could possibly force myself to be that obnoxious. For those of you who don't know, Howard Stern caused quite a controversy when he broadcast in Canada recently (in the last couple of years I think). |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 25-Apr-2000 1:04am drdt: totally agree |
| Strider | posted 26-Apr-2000 1:49am drdt: What do you mean by a can of creamed corn? Are you by any chance sugesting that the "King of All Media" Howard Stiern be replaced by it? I think this would be ofensive to the creamed corn? |
| joachim | posted 26-Apr-2000 12:19pm He gets to see a lot of women naked, but he's really not very interesting and he seems to be a mean person. |
| joachim | posted 26-Apr-2000 12:20pm Robin - the only problem with your theory is that Stern only gets paid because people actually listen to his show. It sounds like you would take care of that in short order with your lineup. |
| natsim | posted 18-May-2000 7:14pm Provided I didn't have to say what he told me to. |
