| daver | posted 20-Apr-2000 4:35pm If it was the type of underwear that is normally line-dried, I might be a little puzzled as to why she didn't use our drying rack. If it was the type of underwear that I would expect to be dried in a dryer then I would probably try to determine the health of our dryer the next time I saw either my roommate or my dryer. |
| Enheduanna | posted 20-Apr-2000 5:23pm It wouldn't bother me in the least. And I assume it doesn't bother my housemates when I leave my leopard print undies drying on the rack by the washer! |
| mary | posted 20-Apr-2000 5:53pm Nope, I wouldn't react. |
| Frostbrand | posted 20-Apr-2000 6:00pm Who gives a fudge? It's just underwear. I wouldn't touch it, but it wouldn't shock me. |
| micah | posted 20-Apr-2000 6:00pm Enhe: huh? What? Maybe I should change my vote. |
| drdt | posted 20-Apr-2000 6:46pm Do we have an agreement to keep such things out of the bathroom? |
| Maarten | posted 20-Apr-2000 7:15pm I've experienced this when I shared a house with 3 girls. I really didn't mind. |
| kirst | posted 20-Apr-2000 11:13pm Why would that be a problem? It's only a piece of clothing. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 21-Apr-2000 6:36am No different. I'd be pissed off if they were in the sink though, or appeared when they knew guests were coming over. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 21-Apr-2000 6:40am micah: agreed. This survey was posted for the benefit of Jeanne, who felt co-ed dorm mates wouldn't work because you couldn't hang your undies to dry. |
| ILJ | posted 21-Apr-2000 8:25am How about "less disgusted." I doubt I'd be excited. |
| pcpr | posted 21-Apr-2000 9:17pm It doesn't matter what gender they fit (or even if it's underwear, for that matter) -- I just don't like to see things hanging to dry in the bathroom. That's what the laundry area is for. If I don't have a place to hang things to dry in my home (or yard etc) then they have to be machine dried, period. I dislike mess in the bathroom, and clothes hanging to dry qualify. |
| Maggie | posted 24-Apr-2000 12:57am No reaction at all |
| Zang | posted 24-Apr-2000 5:39am I had to laugh. I just finished responding to Jeanne's comments in the coed dorm debacle (thanks for going to bat for me there). My reaction to this scenario would be mildly negative, the degree of my reaction would be related to the quantity of said garments and frequency of occurrence. I would probably not complain about it unless it got really out of hand. The gender of the roommate would not in any way be a factor. Incidentally, I've lived with about 50 different roommates in the last 19 years and I don't recall this ever happening. (It might have, I just don't remember) |
| drdt | posted 24-Apr-2000 6:08pm Zang: I don't think people 'hang their undies out to dry' in this day and age. |
| phi | posted 25-Apr-2000 12:36am drdt: I do. My male housemate does, as does one of my female housemates. But we have a place in the basement to hang such things. |
| joachim | posted 25-Apr-2000 3:19pm My ex-roommate used to dry her underwear in the bathroom all the time. Why, I have no idea. I am male, she is female, her underwear, while frillier and less functional looking than mine was not so different. Except that I never hung mine in the bathroom to dry. |
| joachim | posted 25-Apr-2000 3:32pm To be fair, however, I don't think Jeanne was really that worried about people seeing each others' underwear (maybe she was - I don't even know what kind of underwear she wears but the point is that there are actual issues that could come into play when housing immature adults of different sexes in the same room). |

| mandy | posted 8-May-2000 9:37pm i'd rather fudge a monkey |
| Frostbrand | posted 9-May-2000 12:09am OK Twist, this monkey thing has to stop. In the space of ten minutes it's gone from cute, to annoying, to flat out disturbing. |
| magbast | posted 9-May-2000 12:16am i think she's drunk as a sku...errm monkey! |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 9-May-2000 6:21am Yeah, stop all the monkey business. Oh my god, I'm onto her tricky little scheme. She's trying to get us all into a hot & bothered frenzy, then she's going to officially advertise her monkey escort service. Don't be fooled people. There's a reason you don't see monkeys in victoria's secret catalogs. Monkeys are no substitute for coatamundi, I mean, I mean, people. |
| mandy | posted 9-May-2000 8:14pm you fools.....all of you.... do you really think this is about monkeys? Bwa hahahahahahahaha............. |
