Visited the capitol, shook hands with the PM. Unfortunately, it was Brian Mulroney.

Kind of..... My boyfriend and I went out to the east coast, we arrived in DC, man, it took five hours for us to find our way out! Probably because we were all high as kites. We did see all of it though, it turns out that my boyfriend had taken a piss on the monument (that tall pointing thing) when he was hammered one night. Man, it was all so fun.

I've been to London many times and I've seen the Houses of Parliament up close, but not been inside. I'm not even sure which bits you're allowed to see and which you're not.

Although on a interesting note, due to a 500 year old law, whenever the ruling monarch enters the Capitol to make a speech, a member of parliament has to be kept under armed guard the whole time, only being released when she is confirmed to have got home safely.

mary: Talking about urinating on national landmarks, that reminds me. Can anyone SC users (particularly the ones that are Irish) confirm or deny a rumour I heard that the local students piss on the Blarney Stone (which allegedly confers good luck on anyone who kisses it)?

Ottawa is a cool place, I like it a lot. Been there often and am going again in a few days :) The tulip festival is going to start soon, so I'll go back to see that also.

I've been to the White House, I don't think I went into the building/area where Congress meets. It was years ago. **Hey, Jane! I went in 8th grade too! If you went to school in Rocky Hill, CT...

I've visited the Capitol city, and I've stood on the steps of the Capitol building, but never been inside. Not sure whether to count that as a yes or no...

I've circled the globe, been up and down the west coast of North America, from Anchorage to San Diego, but the only time I set foot east of the Rockies (on this continent) was in Denver Airport. I've visited my Provincial Capitol (right inside the building), and the Capitol Cities of all the countries I've visited in Asia and Europe.
