...but stores are such a hassle. i used to live by mail order; my wife helps un-hassle the stores, but she's also gotten turned on to the value of the catalogs.

Fairly easily. I have long limbs for my height, but not freakishly so...

I'm on the large side and in most stores can't find clothes that fit me comfortably

The problem for me is not size, per se... It's that I wear a different size on every part of me, so things just don't fit well. Not to mention that if I do happen to find something in a store, I usually don't buy it anyway, because I could almost always sew it. And make it fit better, for less money, in any fabric I wanted... Etc. I've gotten really really picky. :)

I basically have to go to specialty stores (Lane Bryant is a big fave). Most "standard" retail stores stop at women's size 14, which is pretty ridiculous since all the estimates I've read indicate that over half of American women are size 16 and up.

I don't normally have a problem finding clothes that fit. Shoes are another matter...

I am depressingly average in every way.

Fairly easy. When I was a 38"-40" waist I used to get the sale racks. Stuff that was full price two weeks earlier was now discounted. Now that I'm a 35" waist, can't do that anymore :)

I have the problem that anything that fits my torso has sleves that are too short. for things that don't need fitting (T-shirts) I can wear anything. For jeans I can just go and get my size (men's clothing is sized so much more sensibly than womens, it's much less arbitrary)

I'm in-between regular and "plus" (god, i HATE THAT DESIGNATION!), and I have a big waist, but not big hips and big thighs to match, so "relaxed fit" is a nightmare for me. Also, why don't they make things in bigger sizes that don't just HANG there...some people who aren't size 4 still go in at the waist, people! *rant off*

Not like I ever buy clothes. "Uh, t-shirt in XL, please."

Used to be more difficult, when I wore 28x32's--not a lot of 32 inseams in the kids' departments, and not a lot of 28 waists in the men's departments. Now that I'm old and fat (for me) it's gotten much easier.

I'm 5'7" but seem to have a both a long torso and long legs (I don't understand how that could work) so if I get a dress, the waist comes too high, and if I get jeans, I have to get them long. But other than that, shirts always fit, non-waisted dresses (or the empire style) are great, etc.

I'm short and not stout. Makes it difficult to find clothes that fit w/o adjustments. It's a little easier now that my waist is (up to) 30", but getting a 28" inseam is still tricky, and still needs to be hemmed. They have "Big and Tall" shops (should be "or"), why not "Short and Thin" ones? For shoes, I have discovered that I get the best results shopping in the women's department, as my feet are narrower than is typical.

It's nearly impossible to find my size, but by expending both mucho dollars and effort I can find something. But I will never be a fashion plate. I wish more of the style of clothing I like was available online.

Maybe if I lost some weight it would help. Like 60 lbs.

Everything's too small! (I know, I know - lose weight - I am not THAT big!)

I am small and major retailers rarely carry office clothes in sizes smaller than 6.

I have a size 42 waist, but pant manufacturer seem to believe that people with a waist this size must be 7 feet tall, well I'm only 6 feet. I feel like a clown trying to get pants that fit properly.

I think I am the epitome of the average woman, so they usually have my size in the store... but it can also work out bad because if there is a sale of any kind then everything but my size is there.

it's nto that I'm a non-standard (whatever that means) body type or anything, I'm just incredibly fussy about how clothes fit me. Unfortunately I also
h a t e to try clothes on in the store. I tend to buy my clothes a bit bigger so they're loose. I'm also starting to develop issues about my body --like, I don't like it. Clothes shopping rarely helps this fact.

I do most of my shopping at a warehouse sale that happens twice a year. I hate retail shopping.

you just have to go to the right stores. (i.e. Big & Tall)

short and heavy doesn't seem to be a combination that's frequently available.

It used to be almost impossible. Now, 65 pounds smaller, I find it a lot easier, but it's not just size, it's proportions, and certain companies cuts fit me well, and others do not at all. ***fiore, I find the opposite to be true- now that I'm smaller, there's more stuff on sale/used racks that fit- before I could only find new stuff. But while I now find it easier to buy clothes at home, I'm still too big for stuff from street vendors in other countries.

You wouldn't -think- this would be a problem. I'm fairly normal-shaped for a guy. But most shirts' sleeves are too short, and a lot of pants are just, well, not proportioned right. I think the store owners must seem me coming and replace all of their normal stock with oddball stuff (with normal-size labels) before I get there, just to amuse themselves.

This is highly variable according to what I'm buying; I have particular trouble with dress shirts. Also I have gotten much pickier lately about exactly how well things fit me, since finding a (catalog) retailer whose clothes consistently fit me well.

It's not that I have trouble finding clothes in my size, it's just that I have trouble figuring out what my size is.
