What is your favorite donut?

Chocolate old-fashioned buttermilk.
Here is a donut recipe I cooked up that came to me after some meditations in egyptology.
Nile Geodes:
Center: Mango chutney, Egyptian strawberry preserves, Orange (fruit only) marmalade, ginger: low boil with cornstarch.
Filling: Date filling, Poppyseed filling, Clove, Allspice, Chinese 5 spice.
Crust: Bulgar, whole wheat flour, oats, cooked rice, salt, touch of soda/powder: Steep in yeasty beer.
Coating: sweet coconut w/ spearmint flakes steeped in anise.
Fridge, Form earth core balls, deep fry in Olive & Canola oil.

The archetypal, platonic ideal donut is a hot, plain glazed from Krispy Kreme. But the nearest Krispy Kreme is 225 miles away, and the best the local donut shop can do is a French Cruller, which I marked down as "other".

That is weird, I was just craving a donut, I haven't had one in years!

My favorite kind of donut is Chocolate glazed!! They are really good!!

I like the all-chocolate donuts ("chocolate through and through"), I don't think that's listed there. I picked lemon though, cause I like those too. I prefer "donut holes" or Munchkins® though as I prefer little bites with variety. In general I avoid donuts as I'm fairly certain they aren't very good for me (I usually feel ill when I eat 2 or more).

I used to love chocolate coated jam donuts (an option which is sadly lacking ) but mostly find them too sweet nowdays... so I go for something small and simple.

I agree that Krispy Krem glazed donuts are pretty much the most amazing donuts ever. In their absence, Entenmann's Popems (donut holes, basically) are the best substitute I have found.

OH! I love donuts. My favorite is chocolate covered donuts. I am a huge fan of chocolate anything though. Too bad they are really bad for you.

Glazed are definitely my favorite to eat, but to talk to I love Powdered Donuts. They always make good conversation and are very nice to look at.

I turn psycho when I have donuts. I like Krispy Kreme, and glazed chocolate cake donuts, if I have them, but then I'm not really fit for human company, so I avoid the whole deal usually.

sybersnoops: my powdered donuts never do that. Maybe I need to take more acid.

Enheduanna, LOL!!!! Powdered Donut is my Daughter, so hence the comment, but I wouldn't be opposed to trying something that made my donuts talk to me either. :)

liquid: Over the past several surveys I've checked, you've laughed at some of the options. I should tell you, THAT IS ANNOYING!!!! Really, what's so funny about "I've never heard of a donut?" For that mater, what is so funny about "I don't watch movies?" Take a chill-pill Mr. ADHD.

Brian, actually, some of the options are funny if you think along the lines of someone raised in this country or any other consumer oriented nation not ever having seen a movie...or eaten a donut.

I haven't seen my favourite offered in any of the common doughnut shops in the US: the fluffy-dough kind, dipped in granulated sugar.
