| bill | posted 29-Apr-1998 8:32am Milktree - you win! You are the weirdest of them all! |
| lara | posted 29-Apr-1998 9:26am how many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb? i generally like my tools to be the color of steel, because that's what i usually like them to be made of. i make exceptions for things like rawhide mallets and wooden spoons. |
| doom | posted 29-Apr-1998 9:46am I like the blue of a Makita cordless power drill myself. |
| fiore | posted 29-Apr-1998 9:58am Black |
| tick | posted 29-Apr-1998 10:35am I like black. Much harder to see the drill-press coming at you at night... |
| romkey | posted 29-Apr-1998 12:04pm Topper wraps two different colors of duct tape around tools to identify which are hers. I think that's a great idea. If we're talking power tools, I have a hard enough time using them that I prefer colors that don't distract me from the job I'm trying to do. |
| Dolemite | posted 29-Apr-1998 3:28pm WTF? |
| mute | posted 29-Apr-1998 4:09pm Makita tools are that cool bluish color. I rather like that. |

| Artemis | posted 29-Apr-1998 8:53pm The ones that are clear plastic, doesn't matter what colour but usually it's yellow so that's what I put. |
| Jaime | posted 30-Apr-1998 5:52am For a tool? Which tool? Well, I like red-caramel screwdrivers, but don't know why... |
| Gamera | posted 30-Apr-1998 1:52pm no- I *used* to wrap two colors of tape around them (orange and red, check your tool room then return my tools, please) but then I learned that eventually you get gummy-gooey tape stuff on your hands- yuck- and have to clean all your tools with noxious crap - yuck again. Now I use red and orange nail polish- still yuck, but you only get one yuck for your buck, not two. |
| ear | posted 1-May-1998 9:07am That depends. I have one tool I prefer in flesh color. ;) |
| Resy | posted 1-May-1998 3:50pm I said neon ... I think that would be cool to have tools with gas-filled handles - that would make them MUCH easier to find in the dark... good ol' neon ... |
| Mark | posted 4-May-1998 1:04pm It depends on the tool, but I usually prefer my tools to be traditionally coloured (chrome, grey and black are good). That is, things like screwdrivers and table saws. (ref. the "Tools vs Toys" survey |
| jer | posted 5-May-1998 10:51am I prefer wooden finish on those with wood parts |
| lelle | posted 5-May-1998 11:06am I like black or bright. :) |
| jjg | posted 5-May-1998 9:01pm Tools by nature need to black. Black is cool. Tools are cool. In order for tools to be fully cool, they need to be black. It's all simple logic. |
| Dahlia | posted 6-May-1998 12:39am For a tool? What kind of tool exactly? Well, if I think of the tools I have, I think black or silver is a great color. Pink... ugh, who invented that color anyways? |
| reality | posted 3-Jul-1998 6:12pm um.. yellow? screwdrivers need to be easily seen.. for something like a saw, it'd look silly. it depends on the tool |
| gilly | posted 14-Aug-1998 3:24pm I kind of like the concept of pink, but black tools are just sexier. |
| eloradanan | posted 27-May-2006 3:58pm The color of a tool isn't important to me. |
