I wouldn't have thought I had an age preference ... but the fact is that *all* the men I have dated have been younger than me.

When I lived in Boston I mainly dated people who were my age or older (up to ten years older), usually older. Since I moved to California I have dated only significantly younger. My current boyfriend is 4 years younger than I am.

I've only "dated" a handful of people in my life, not enough to really have a preference. ...though, my wife is 4 years younger than me - that was the biggest age difference I ever had with someone I dated and I do prefer her.

I prefer similar, but I don't have any special preferences.

Similar age used to mean within a year either way, but now it means within 4 or 5 years either way (although I'd date someone much older before I'd date someone much younger).

Similar emotional/experiential age - chronological age is a little more variable.

I tend to prefer people around my own age, which is easy to refute since my last four boyfriends were all younger than me.

I tend not to let age enter into my attraction for another person. I have dated people as much as 10 years older and 10 years younger than I am, and not seen any patterns that appear to be age-related.

I get along quite well with people much older than myself, but the guy I am engaged to is 3 years younger. Go figure.

I have no age preferences. Although, when talking with my friends(girls), they all say I should go out with a woman older than me, because of my maturity.

Age, schmage. I've dated guys ten years older and quite younger. If they can keep up with me, that's what matters.

I don't really have any age preference, I am usually more concerned with how well the other person and I get along. Mind you there is a limit to this.. I am not interested in dating anyone under 18 (too young and jail bait) nor anyone over 35 because then I feel that they are in a totally different stage of their life... but I guess it would have to depend on the person.

A year or two at the most younger than me would be nice. Not terribly stuck to that, however. I've dated lots younger, and a few years older.

not that i ever went on an actual "date" (unless you count that time in sixth grade at the roller-skating rink...*shiver*), but the women i have been romantically linked to have ranged from 3 years younger than me to 8 years older than me.

I have only been really attracted to one person within four years of me in either direction, and she threw me over. So there. (My... er... wife is seven years my senior).

I don't really date. If there were enough mutual interest to date, then it wouldn't be much of a factor. (heck everytime someone asks my age I have to calculate it, time and age aren't important).

As long as they're interesting it doesn't matter to me how old they are.

The thing I look for most is personality and I like them smart. Looks don't realy factor in very high. I like older people because I think older, I act older, I have maturity, and I tire of immature people easily. The right age of a person would be almost 6 years older but I find that 3 years older is my general range as there are complications above that.

None of the above! I do have age preferences, but none of the ones listed. All things being equal, I'd prefer to go out with someone within ~30% of my age. Usual caveats about broad generalizations apply.
