| they | posted 14-Mar-2000 10:49pm When I do.. they are doozies. |
| dab | posted 14-Mar-2000 11:20pm They aren't nearly so distressing as they were when I was small. Usually. |
| Eeah | posted 15-Mar-2000 1:04am I have wild dreams. I guess some would consider them nightmares.. but I always enjoy them. |
| kirst | posted 15-Mar-2000 6:34am I had one last night... |
| bluebird1974 | posted 15-Mar-2000 8:25am I had a dream the other night that I died and I was a ghost in my dream it was horrible. |
| Enheduanna | posted 15-Mar-2000 9:41am Besides the usual good and often bizarre dreams, I tend to have more dreams that I would call disturbing, rather than nightmares. These disturbing dreams are often my subconscious trying to process what's going on in my life, and tell me something. When I do have nightmares, they tend to be pretty freaky, and may or may not have to do with some real fear I have. |
| joachim | posted 15-Mar-2000 10:00am I had a scary dream a couple of months ago, as in I woke up in the normal way, thought a moment and said to myself, "that dream was scary". The wake up in terror kind of dream? I think I had one in college but really I haven't had them since I was a kid. |
| Oscar | posted 15-Mar-2000 11:28am I used to have bad dreams, but never nightmares. I think there is a big difference between nightmares and bad dreams. |
| Wicksy | posted 15-Mar-2000 12:41pm I have had 2 in as many nights. In one, I killed this man who was threatening to kill me and I had to bury his body. After that, I was fretting someone would find who killed him. BUT, it wasn't my fault I WAS PROTECTING MYSELF |

| drdt | posted 15-Mar-2000 2:15pm I have had a half-dozen things that I would call 'nightmares' in my life, but they have always been while I was awake. These are full bore terrifying visual/audio/tactile hallucinations, worse than dreams because I am awake and aware that my senses are fritzing. They have usually happened at night, which is why I thought they were nightmares. I have only had one dream bad enough to wake me up frightened, which is what I think most people mean when they say 'nightmare'. |
| Resy | posted 15-Mar-2000 4:42pm Prednesone sometimes causes me nightmares. I usually have to take it during allergy season. |
| Maarten | posted 15-Mar-2000 5:38pm Maybe once a year. |
| mandy | posted 15-Mar-2000 6:52pm Often |
| joachim | posted 15-Mar-2000 7:37pm drdt: I remember one of those. It scared us as much as it scared you. |
| SuperStef | posted 16-Mar-2000 12:47am Never. Actually, not since I was 8! |
| Gamera | posted 16-Mar-2000 9:59am I have wild and very vivid dreams, some good, some bad, most neutral. The most common nightmares are the ones involving fights with loved ones. I wake up all disoriented and sad and needing reassurance. I also have more horror nightmares of all varieties, but less often. I used to have them much more, when I was younger. |
| micah | posted 16-Mar-2000 11:42am I had one dream when I was very young that I would consider a nightmare. I was in a forest, and I was scared. All other times, I resolve the conflict head on and there's nothing to fear. I always either make friends with my foes, or beat them to a bloody pulp. |
| Frostbrand | posted 16-Mar-2000 12:23pm Every wake up, sweaty, confused, with a stomach-ache, a headache, and everything that you've eaten/touched/smelled/seen/read/heard/did over the past few days suddenly amalgamate into one incredibly bizarre hallucination? Last time this happened to me, I hallucinating eating popcorn shrimp with Amy Brennamen while cleaning my cat's litterbox with a copy of the book Red Mars while Rage Against The Machine and Diana Krall are doing a duet behind me, all while I was in massive amounts of pain. |
| bill | posted 16-Mar-2000 12:56pm almost never |
| anonymous | posted 16-Mar-2000 2:32pm topper you need reassurance when you are not having bad dreams, too! |
| Gamera | posted 16-Mar-2000 2:47pm anonymous #1 - Duh. |
| pandora | posted 17-Mar-2000 2:25pm I had a recurring nightmare when I was about 5 years old that my porcelain dolls could come alive, and that they wanted to kill me. That fudgeed me up real good for a long time, because I thought it could happen in real life too, and I lived in constant fear. |
| Eeah | posted 18-Mar-2000 2:28am heh. I had one of those.. "The world is coming to an end and I'm the only one who can help".. Very weird.. but in the end I took sides with the "Mad Scientist" and we took the world over together.. *ahem* |
| Eeah | posted 18-Mar-2000 2:29am I love my dreams. They're high classed in detail. I was telling Matt earlier how I'm disappointed quite often when I wake up. |
| mandy | posted 18-Mar-2000 1:19pm yeah...reality bites! |
| Avocado | posted 18-Mar-2000 5:09pm I get asthmatic nightmares sometimes... I'll be having an attack while I'm half-asleep, and it'll interweave thematically with my dream. I'll be awake enough to be experiencing the pain and struggle of it, but not awake enough to think, "Go take the $^&^* inhaler!" Hasn't happened in a while, fortunately. |
| SueBee | posted 19-Mar-2000 10:22pm Rarely. |
| mary | posted 23-Mar-2000 2:20pm I have had nightmares where my soul was facing opposite from the front of me, or just turned around backwards in my body face down and I could not do anything, I couldn't function until I had turned my soul to face the front of me and look through my eyes. It was weird. Actually it was kind of like the same thing that shrooms did to me when I had closed my eyes just a little to long. |
| LouLou | posted 14-Apr-2000 2:48pm I have terrible nightmares. I get told to wake up because of my whimpering. Maybe they are not nightmares. |
| Zang | posted 27-Apr-2000 1:44am Ever have that one where you wake up, the room is dark, you try to turn on the light, but it doesn't work, so you try to open the door, but the door won't open, and you realize that you're still in the nightmare, so you wake up, and the room is dark, you try to turn on the light, but it doesn't work,...crap...so you wake up...the room is dark...I love that one. |
| Cheezer | posted 27-Apr-2000 2:36am I don't have a nightmares often now but when I was younger I had the same nightmares over and over. |
| LindaH | posted 23-Jul-2008 6:44pm Never. I've read that bad things happen in dreams when you expect them to. (fear or worry) This explains why my dreams don't turn bad. |
