Do you think it would be interesting to have a "users" page of some sort with pictures of users if they want to send them in and maybe a short bio or quote?

I agree with the short bio, this is interesting and have relation to the Survey Central purposes, but a photo... ...no, don't seems to have any relation with answers to surveys.

Yes, but very few people would do it I think. I would do it (obviously...). I think pictures would be especially cool - though, I think the ones I want to see most wouldn't show me a picture.

This could be done as a survey. Create a survey that says: Q:Please enter a little bio of yourself in your comment, also a hyperlink to a picture of yourself would be appreciated.

I rather like the façade of anonymity we have by not necessarily knowing who is who. I know who a lot of folks are, but I can at least pretend that they don't know who I am. I would worry about the honesty of the answers if everyone could send mail to anyone, and know who anyone is. Given the somewhat .... touchy nature of some of the surveys, perhaps publishing all that isn't such a good idea. remember the "which of these is immoral" one? how about "have you ever done..." this information could potentially be used against you by someone who was trying to cause trouble. *** I like Bill's idea of it being a survey.

If people wanted it sure but I would probably not put anything up for me.

On one hand, it sounds interesting, and I would probably do it if it were set up that way and other people went first, but I also kind of suspect milktree is right, answers and questions might get a bit more cautious and less interestingly forthright if people felt less anonymous.

yes - it would be interesting, but No - what I make up is often better than reality : )

No. I have a dream that one day there will be thousands of users on Survey Central, and tacos and coke will be plentiful, and beautiful women will run freely through the streets; the user page would not be able to accommodate such a load. The stats page is enough for me right now.

"Interesting," yes, but I'm not sure I think it would be a good idea.

I don't know, I just think it would be cool to see some of you people. You all have personalities and stuff in my mind, I'm just kind of curious how you look. ***bill, re: the hyperlink part, could those of us who are less html fluent just send you a pic via e-mail and have you put it in? I think I'll wait to create the question until more people have answered this one. **Dolemite: was that from the bible or something? that was truly beautiful * smile * . (I like these bigger comment boxes by the way, bill, keep whupin it up)

yeah, it'd be ok. but it should have some structure to the questions, like some uniformity (this being a survey page) and I would definitely submit a pic of myself (cuz I'm so in love w/ myself)

i think it could help build a sense of community, and also help people learn a little more about the other people they're dealing with here. On the other hand, it's kind of cool that when we form our impressions of one another, all we have to go on (those of us who don't already know one another outside of survey central) is what we read of the answers to the surveys, and not appearance or chosen text in a bio.

Yes. But I do think it's been very interesting putting together an impression of people from their words alone. It's funny how some people I think are stupid and then I suddenly realize they're just extremely young--which makes me wonder how dumb I sound to people further along the spectrum from me. It's also funny how much I resent it when someone I've written off as an eejit says something I agree with--how dare they?!! I think having images and quotes will change that dynamic, but I'm sure it will be in interesting ways.

I wouldn't do it, but I'd be interested to see other people's user's pages.

It'd be really neat to get an idea what the background of the person making the comments was. I make certain comments, and I also have a 9 year old son, am divorced, etc. etc. Those experiences flavour my take on life.

Plus around half of us have chosen names that obviously indicate who we are :) The privacy-seeking "pseudonym" people can remain that way if they wish.

actually, i'd rather like emai-forwarding (at the user's option), that is to be able to set up a send-mail-to address in the profile (optionally), and make the comments table automagically link the username to a mailto. instant-clicky private conversations based on the thoughts expressed. it would be nice to be able to look up user info (what is public, like a home page/email address/etc) as well.

it would remove a lot of the (supposed) anonymity
