How often do you do laundry?

That is, on average, how often do you wash clothes yourself. Someone else doing your laundry doesn't count, but you doing someone else's laundry does. Doing more than one load at a time only counts as doing laundry once.

With an athletic husband (which means workout clothes in addition to work and relaxing clothes) and children, I have to do laundry nearly every day to keep up.

I don't do colors and whites stuff, because I have to do like 5 loads at a time. It's not bad having to do it, but I hate having to put it all away.

nuttball: Folding and hanging up is the worst part.. but try folding between 15 and 20 cloth diapers a day.

they: I'm so glad to hear someone uses cloth diapers! I've been amazed that none of my friends in the US ever use cloth diapers. It makes me happy to see that at least one person does!

natsim: It's nice to see one person who actually thinks I'm doing a good thing. Most people act like I'm crazy or stupid for using them. They are more comfortable for the baby (she doesn't get diaper rash), better for the environment, and way less expensive. I won't ever use disposables.

I usually only do my laundry when I run out of underwear to wear because without that I don't have any clean clothes. :)

Depends. Sometimes when the hamper's full, sometimes when it's part-full but I need an item of clothing from it.

Once a week. It's the household chore ranked as my least favorite household chore. I think it's because it's never, ever done. Unless of course you could find some way to launder your clothes in a public laundromat au naturale, the clothes you wearing are just the start of the next batch.

Yorricks -- that's funny, laundry is one of my favorite chores; in my mind that's because if I take just basic care (like sorting reds from whites and delicates from regular) then nothing can go wrong and it's one of the few things I can point to and tell people "I did that today and it's done and it's good"; it's especially nice when just about everything else has gone wrong and I can have at least one thing go right that day. Of course if there is a power failure or no water I can't do laundry either (those events are rare but have happened before). * smile *

Anyway, we usually have about five to six loads of laundry a week, and I do laundry about once a week -- I usually wait until the hampers get full and often do it in one day, but I've been known to spread the task over a couple of days or more. I have on occasion let the laundry pile for 2-3 weeks, as well as do one load a day when I'm stressed -- doing laundry relaxes me, it's just run it thru the washer then dryer then fold and put away -- better than meditation for me. Doing the dishes or, more appropriately, running them thru the dishwasher, works to about the same thing for me.

On the other hand I just don't like cooking and I'll do almost anything not to mop the floor and anyone who has been in my home will attest to that.

I throw in a load most days. We have a German two-in-one (washer/dryer) which handles very small loads compared to US washers. It takes about 3 hours from start to finish.

Doing laundry is my life! I do it whenever it walks down the stairs and asks me to. It's in my code of honor to keep the laundry clean and fresh.

Now that I've moved to the big city, I let poor people do my laundry, as befits my high-roller status.

I only do my boyfriends laundry. He usually does it though. I mostly do it to do him a favor. I like folding cloths the best. Yup.
