| joe | posted 19-Apr-1998 8:10pm if it's cold, i feel like im exercising without even trying! :) |
| romkey | posted 19-Apr-1998 11:56pm it depends on how much clothing i feel like wearing at the time |
| hunter | posted 20-Apr-1998 12:33am I grew up in this big old parsonage in Upstate New York. We turned the heat down to 55 every night and up to 62 in the morning. That's a little too cold for my tastes, but anything over 70 is WAY too warm for me. I have no problem putting on a sweater or pulling a blanket over my legs if I'm cold. And I vastly prefer to sleep in a cold room with lots of blankets. Heat is a problem in my life. People always assume I left New England to get away from the snow, but I found the summers much less bearable. I don't like to sweat if I'm not exerting myself. |
| doom | posted 20-Apr-1998 1:13pm I like it on the cool/cold side. you can always put a sweater on. |
| Pigeon | posted 20-Apr-1998 3:05pm I love a chilly house.. it makes you snuggle on the couch.. delightful! |
| elijahblue | posted 20-Apr-1998 4:48pm My household has perpetual thermostat wars. I can't stand it much below 70 and would prefer it to be 75, but one person I live with prefers it to be around 60. We had an agreement that we'd try to keep it at 68, but that hasn't worked...***doom: unfortunately I don't own any sweaters for my nose and ears and fingertips, which suffer most from the cold. |
| Artemis | posted 20-Apr-1998 9:05pm Whatever the temperature is, but it generally depends whether it's winter, summer, or whatever. |
| Jaime | posted 21-Apr-1998 3:03am Well, in which season? In hot seasons 15ºC can be great, but in cold ones I like about 25ºC. |
| Jimmy | posted 22-Apr-1998 5:23am i averaged... i'm in phoenix, az, so about 85 when it's cold out (60 or below), and about 75 when it's hot out (100+ - so about a third of the year) |
| Mark | posted 27-Apr-1998 11:45am I generally prefer warmer indoor temperatures than most people, even while I am sleeping. Probably has to do with not having a great deal of "natural insulation." I also prefer to minimize the amount of clothing needed to feel comfortable. |
| Atzilut | posted 28-Apr-1998 8:52pm my dad was a tightwad with the heat when we were growing up (my mom would start an afghan in september and crochet herself into it -- I am not making this up) so I got used to it. |
| truss | posted 29-Apr-1998 3:24pm 71-72 F. Though when I'm sleeping, a cool room is nice. |
| daver | posted 2-May-1998 6:09pm 55-60 if I'm doing anything, 65 if I'm not, 60 for sleeping. |
| lelle | posted 4-May-1998 2:21pm About 20C for most rooms, definitely colder to sleep (16-18C). And bathroom should be warmer (22-24C). |
| drdt | posted 7-May-1998 3:38pm I'd like to see the ranges overlap a little more... |
| lisashea | posted 8-May-1998 1:36pm I used to not mind the cold but I'm not very "thick" and I get colder more easily now. Especially if I'm just sitting at the computer at work instead of running around on a soccer field. |
| reality | posted 15-May-1998 6:56pm I generally prefer cool. I am comfortable down to about 25-30 degrees outdoors (not counting wind, wind bites) in shorts. |
| phi | posted 31-May-1998 8:18pm I keep my bedroom and office warm but prefer cold (67 / 19) for conference rooms. |
| LawDog | posted 27-Jul-1998 1:33am 78, just perfect. |
| dpolicar | posted 11-Aug-1998 1:13pm Geez, do people really have opinions about 68 vs 69 vs 70 vs 71? Anyway, I'm usually too warm, so I picked 66-67, but it depends... if I'm naked or doing something with my hands I like it warmer. |
| gilly | posted 14-Aug-1998 3:37pm I have no idea - I don't have thermometers in my rooms. (Yes, there's a thermostat in the living room, but I rarely look at it and don't really believe it anyway.) |
| lizzie | posted 18-Nov-1998 11:07am I put 66 to 67. I prefer it to be cool, as I'd rather put in a sweater to get warm than attempt to cool off. |
