Professor of Old Testament Literature, Wellesley College. Too bad the position is about to be filled, and me, oh, at least three years shy of my doctorate. Oh well...

I always wanted to work with mistreated animals.. I would like to own my own sanctuary for injured and mistreated animals... I have wanted to be an elementary school teacher since I was very young.

Actually, I would love to be a movie star. One who can really act. Or an opera singer--if only I had a good singing voice. But those are the more unattainable dream jobs.

I'd love to be in an orchestra and get paid lots and lots for it.

Oh, okay, if I'm really dreaming, I would still be painting murals, but they would be in public buildings- hospitals, schools, libraries, etc., as well as coffee houses and still a few private homes now and then. I would be paid a fair amount more to do it, enough so that I could choose to work for almost nothing if I thought the client really liked my work or would really enjoy it, but couldn't afford my regular rates. I would have my murals in large color glossy coffee table books that people gave to their aunts when they had no idea what else to give them. I'd have talented interns and assistants begging to work for me to learn my techniques- techniques which in my dreams I have worked out to a point that I can do them consistently and reliably. I would always be able to afford staging and never have to work from extension ladders.

To live a live of solitude and disgrace in a filthy one room apartment with an Olympia manual typewriter, a constant stream of mailings of Morrissey paraphenalia and good music, a lifetime supply of stamps, typing paper, typewriter ribbons, replacement parts, food, packaging, and underware. Then I could write the loveliest stories, poems, skits and such... Even if it's not really a job, I couldn't think of a better way to spend the rest of my life...
(of course, a computer with internet would be nice, but we've all got to make sacrifices, don't we?)

Getting paid for staying home in bed with my SO all day.

Currently I'm dreaming of taking a summer off by working in Alaska flying a floatplane for a fishing lodge or some other charter operation. I'm aiming for the summer of 2002.

In my dreams, I'm always an ice cream man, but instead of an ice cream truck, I'm riding an enormous camel, and the ice cream is inside these little doors on the side of his humps. The children come up to buy the ice cream, and they pay for it with can-openers. Usually one of them will try to rob me with a water pistol, but thats when I always wake up.
