| eris | posted 20-Jan-2000 5:24pm I've only had a few, and didn't care for them much (they were all light lager styles, which I don't particularly like). |
| Pomeranian | posted 20-Jan-2000 5:37pm I love Oranjeboom! |
| daver | posted 20-Jan-2000 7:48pm If I had to pick one of these, I'd pick a Grolsch Amber; that way I get a brown swing-top bottle out of the deal. |
| sedi | posted 21-Jan-2000 3:57am Dommelsch purely because of their incredible pinball game. |
| Maarten | posted 21-Jan-2000 5:30am sedi: They have a pinball game? |
| natsim | posted 21-Jan-2000 9:14am I love Grolsch - initially only because I thought the bottle was cool, but now because I really like it. |
| phi | posted 21-Jan-2000 10:57am I like my beer strong and dark. The benelux beers I've had have been light and hoppy. And truth be told, for a white beer I like the belgian ones better. |
| Oscar | posted 21-Jan-2000 11:46am I don't drink beer. |
| doom | posted 21-Jan-2000 4:01pm Of those listed I have only tried Grolsch, Heineken and Amstel and I did not like any of them. :( |
| SueBee | posted 23-Jan-2000 1:50am I think Heineken is the only one of these I've ever had. |
| bill | posted 23-Jan-2000 5:58pm After seeing that list, I guess I don't especially like Dutch beer. Unless, the 5 I've never heard of are good). |
| Maarten | posted 23-Jan-2000 6:22pm These are just lagers and I only like Grolsch and Heineken. They are much, much better than the American lagers Iīve had. Donīt compare them to Belgian/Dutch Trappist or Abdij beer or other special brews. of course those are better than any lager. |
| bill | posted 24-Jan-2000 8:09am Grolsch, Heineken, and Amstel seemed at lot like American "piss" beer (when I tried them)-- Watery and lame, hardly any flavor. Good for getting drunk I guess. |
| Maarten | posted 24-Jan-2000 1:17pm Maybe Grolsch, Heineken and Amstel (= Heineken) adapted their taste to the American market! |
| phi | posted 24-Jan-2000 3:49pm vos: there are good American lagers; not the best but the one most likely to be available over there is Sam Adams. |

| magbast | posted 24-Jan-2000 7:10pm just the mention of samuel adams beer makes me nauseous |
| SueBee | posted 25-Jan-2000 12:56am vos - Are Dutch beers pasteurized? I believe beer has to be pasteurized to be imported to the US. I know when I had Lowenbrau in Germany it tasted MUCH better than the bottled version here. So I wonder if it's the same with Dutch beers. |
| bill | posted 25-Jan-2000 7:12am I like Sam Adams Beer. |
| Maarten | posted 25-Jan-2000 11:02am SueBee: From my own experience I know Heineken and Grolsch taste different in The States, so it could because theyīre pasteurized. Itīs the same with Guinness. In Ireland it tastes great, over here itīs not very good. |
| magbast | posted 27-Jan-2000 7:34pm bill- too rich and a bit of a bitter after taste for me...i'm not really into the lagers |
| Maarten | posted 27-Jan-2000 8:23pm magbast: next time you're in Amsterdam, visit Cafe Gollem. They have about 300 kinds of beers, most of them Belgian!! |
| SueBee | posted 28-Jan-2000 1:15pm vos - Sounds like a good excuse to get REALLY drunk! I'd like to see how many I could sample and still notice the taste. |
| MsVent | posted 30-Jan-2000 12:00am or Amstel Gold |
| magbast | posted 31-Jan-2000 8:00pm vos...i promise, if i ever make it to amsterdam, i will indeed visit the cafe gollem!! |
| Maarten | posted 1-Feb-2000 7:30pm Call me! |
