| ILJ | posted 13-Jan-2000 9:12am "Show me the trophy" just doesn't have the same ring to it. |
| gilly | posted 13-Jan-2000 9:18am Depends how much money and how much I need it. The trophy would make me feel better about myself, and the enjoyment might last longer, but money can certainly be handy. |
| jonathan | posted 13-Jan-2000 10:18am I could use money right now more than I could a recognition of an accomplishment, so I'd take the money. |
| Gamera | posted 13-Jan-2000 10:20am Depends on how much money- if the money is enough to buy me studio space so that I can make more things that might late win me trophies, for instance. In general I'd rather be rewarded for my skill, though. |
| drdt | posted 13-Jan-2000 1:12pm I am awarded money in a contest of skill every day, so there! |
| eris | posted 13-Jan-2000 1:16pm I'd prefer to win the trophy, but I'd prefer to have the money. |
| Frostbrand | posted 13-Jan-2000 5:38pm Just ONCE in my fracin' life I'd like to win something based on my talents, but in every contest that would require it I'm either too old (15 or younger for gameshows like Click) or too young. Well, not anymore. Starting February 1st, I'll be of elligible age to do stuff like 21 or Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. |
| Lauren | posted 13-Jan-2000 7:14pm Money if it is a really large some. |

| anonymous | posted 13-Jan-2000 8:44pm Brian: Good luck. Here is the # to apply for ...Millionaire: 1-800-433-8321 It's reaaaaaaaaallllyyyy hard though, be warned. |
| Maggie | posted 13-Jan-2000 8:48pm Money, I need it more then a trophy. |
| robin | posted 14-Jan-2000 9:47am Neither. When I was young I entered lots of contests of skill and got lots of trophies and awards and recognition. In my old age though, I seem to have toned down the competitive streak quite a bit, and I am much less interested in what I win and more interested in what I accomplish. |
| Jane | posted 14-Jan-2000 11:01pm It depends. If it was something I could be really proud of, like singing or drawing or some other talent, then the trophy. If it was something stupid like "Loudest Burp", then the money. But if it was a lot of money, I'd want that. |
| Oscar | posted 15-Jan-2000 11:30am money, the trophy would just collect a lot of dust. |
| jzp | posted 16-Jan-2000 9:10am are either contest fun/worth it? the prize is immaterial if the experience sucks. |
| magbast | posted 18-Jan-2000 3:34pm had to read the question a few times...must be half asleep |
| Mariah | posted 19-Jan-2000 10:50am I'm sorry to say it, but probably the money. Especially right now... |
| bill | posted 24-Jan-2000 8:03am trophies are crap |
| ILJ | posted 24-Jan-2000 8:40am especially if they're not Scottish! |
| petite1 | posted 25-Jan-2000 2:24pm no doubt-- i would want the money. i have won trophys and they have ended up in my mom's attic or the back of a closet. |
| SVML | posted 25-Jan-2000 10:19pm I would take the money. |
| lonxedosol | posted 27-Jan-2000 11:20am I could always SELL the trophy. Besides, I'd rather used my skills than just pure luck. I'm not that lucky. |
| Renee | posted 10-Feb-2000 7:25am money, who needs a stinkin' trophy |
