Interesting timing. I started my current job exactly 9 years ago today. (January 2)

My SO asked me to leave the job where I was employed and come and work for her at the business she runs. I was delighted. It was more hours and better wages and it works perfectly around my daughter's school schedule.

Unsure. I had never worked for the gov't before and the job was a newly created position, so no one had any idea what I was supposed to do.

What a combo... nervous, excited, hopeful, sad, frightened, lonely, but confident.

I had worked previously for seven years with a production company in Canada. Moved myself down here to work in an unstable computer game start-up. Thinking about it now, I must have been NUTS!

Worst part was worrying that I had moved my wife and 9-month old daughter into a bad situation. But hey, here it is, almost 4 years later, and we shipped the game in November, and things couldn't be better.

Lies! My visa doesn't allow my wife to work here in the U.S. so we're not doing well financially, but otherwise, it's not bad.

I was extremely happy that I had gotten the exact job I wanted, and I was nervous, shy, quiet, anxious, jittery, etc.

Almost all of the above.

The day I went to City Hall to officially register my mural business, the woman behind the counter asked me if she could have a couple of my business cards, for herself and her family. I was very excited already, and that just made a really nice omen.

Nope, never head from her again, but still it was nice.

Okay, I admit it, I have an ego problem.
